Sadly I had to go to a cher concert once. I was in my teens and my father bought my mother tickets to a cher concert for her birthday. To my horror he bought a ticket for me and said I had to go.

I have a hard time even imagining Cher playing in Austin. My favorite Austin group is the Austin Lounge Lizards. Other than that, I'm mostly a jazz fan because that's what my son plays. He's in three or four jazz combos and two rock groups. Keyboards in jazz, guitar in rock.

Actually, I kinda lied about the jazz--we have one of the few full-time classical music stations in the country here in Austin, and that's where the dial stays most of the time. Right now, I'm listening to Carmina Burana.

And since I used to be a minister, the only one likely to be true for me is that it could happen again. I get asked occasionally to fill a pulpit.
