Sorry bout that,

1. But Alec Baldwin isn't fit to parent a hamster.
2. This guy is criminally insane.
3. No one talks to their loved ones like that, EVER!
4, That is a disgrace for all fathers, all over the planet.
5. What he said is below contemptible.
6. I can not even explain how low that what he said is.
7. This man is not to be trusted with this little girl.
8. He might strangle her next time he sees her, who can be sure?

Alec Baldwin 'to keep mouth shut' after rant at daughter

Alec Baldwin has taken a vow of silence after a recording of a volcanic tirade by the actor to his 11-year-old daughter appeared in US media reports.
The Oscar-nominated star of "The Departed" unleashed a heated tirade at daughter Ireland, who has been caught in the middle of tit-for-tat legal battles between Baldwin and ex-wife Kim Basinger in recent years.

Baldwin's April 11 rant -- where at one point he informs his daughter that she is a "rude, thoughtless, little pig" -- was reported widely in US broadcast and online media Friday.

The 49-year-old actor's ire was apparently triggered by Ireland's failure to switch her mobile phone on for a scheduled call with her father.

"Once again I've made an ass out of myself trying to get to a phone at a specific time," Baldwin says in the message. "I'm tired of playing this game with you. You have insulted me for the last time.

"You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being -- I don't give a damn that you are 12 or 11 or a child or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care what you do."

Baldwin then tells his daughter that he is going to fly to Los Angeles to "straighten her out."

Baldwin's spokesman said in a statement that "in the best interest of the child" the actor would "do what the mother is pathologically incapable of doing -- keeping his mouth shut and obeying the court order."

The statement said Basinger and her lawyer leaked the tape in violation of a court order, and that Baldwin regretted the choice of language used.

"Although Alec acknowledges that he should have used different language in parenting his child, everyone who knows him privately knows what he has been put through for the past six years," it added.

Baldwin and Basinger, the star of "LA Confidential," split in 2001 but have been locked in bitter legal wrangling over related to Ireland's custody and visitation rights.

Basinger was charged with contempt of court last year for violating a 2004 custody arrangment. A Los Angeles court rejected a bid by Basinger's lawyers to have the charges dismissed this week.

So we condemn him because he talks like that to his child? If he were actually abusing his daughter, then I could understand that.

He did abuse her. Didn't you hear the audio? Oh, I get it. You think abuse is only physical. You don't believe in emotional abuse. Got it.

Physical abuse is more what I'm worried about. My parents have said stuff like that to me many many many times without hitting me, so would that make them unfit parents?

It depends on what they said. Emotional abuse can be just as damaging.

Parents get upset at their children. You would have to show that this is a common occurance for it to be abuse. Yelling at your kid is normal. Yeah...he was a bit over the top at the end but I don't hear anything from his mouth that sounds like she was in any physical danger. He was straight up telling her she was going to be 'straightened out' which probably means a good discussion with her about the problem behavior.

You shouldn't be. Emotional abuse is far more harmful than physical.

But physical abuse is easier to spot, though.

Just because it's easier to spot doesn't mean it's more harmful.

I don't agree...Physical abuse WILL CAUSE additional emotional abuse. Emotional abuse is by itself though. If you beat your child then not only do they suffer physically but also emotionally. It's a terrible thing to physically abuse a child.

Who is Alec Baldwin, and more importantly why do we care. I mean doesn't the US media have more important things to report upon like the war in Afghanistan or the 52 civilians killed and 120 wounded in the Somali capital? Besides this is just a tactic by a political party to try and lessen the power of the opponents by digging up some dirt on one of their members who isn't a politician but just a famous citizen.

Sorry bout that,

1. But the neoliberal mindset in basically angry.
2. Take a few neoliberals we have here on DF as examples.
3. I on the other hand deal with issues that would anger the average person, evils of Islam etc, but I am hardly ever show displays of anger.
4. I tell it like it is, and move on.
5. I don't add poison to it, nor do I sugar coat it.
6. I come out blasting with the truth.
7. I don't usually add ranker to it, or vile words projected at others here who read this to cause them direct harm.
8. I just stick to the truth, as to the way I see it.
9. Explaining my perspective, from my own eyes.
10. Gathering converts on so many levels.
