I can't be sure but it looks like that was an arrow quiver the guy was carrying, not a gun.

Deer makes great burger meat too. I don't believe that's a gun either. Heck for all we know it's a telescope and he is a nature watcher. :)

Actually, this guy did this so the Deer would attack him. he was trying to make out they were dangerous creatures and deliberately provoked the Deer.
