For any of you die-hard geeks out there willing to play with a new OS for fun, the OLPC mod of Red Hat Linux has been released as a live CD.

The Sugar graphical user interface is acutally pretty neat.

It's a good project. I like the idea of the hand crank.

Servers are booked solid. I can't get a download to start.

It took me a solid hour to get my download to start. It got Slashdotted so you can rest assured it will take a while to get the ISO.

I might have to wait a few days then before I actually get this. How big is the download btw? You have an FTP somewhere boogy you can share this with me?

Do they have any mirrors (alternative download sites) available? Alternatively, you can sometimes get this stuff via Bittorrent.

I haven't found any alternate FTP sites but will keep on the lookout. The ISO download is 291 MB.
