So, Billy Graham is apparently of the mind that Sarah Palin is a tool of God. I wonder if Graham intends for his statement on Palin to be interpreted as a tacit endorsement for her to run in 2012.

Billy Graham: God was using Palin 'to wake America up'
Sarah Palin met Billy Graham and his family yesterday in North Carolina, and there's some video of her welcome by his son, Franklin.
They talked, among other things, about foreign policy:
"He's followed her career and likes her strong stand on faith," said son Franklin Graham, who was present for the 2 1/2-hour get-together. "Daddy feels God was using her to wake America up."
The former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate told Billy Graham about how she came to faith in God as a girl in Bible camp.
She quizzed him on the presidents he's known and wanted his take on what the Bible says about Israel, Iran and Iraq, Franklin Graham reported.

Hate to break up the hatefest, but Billy Graham is probably of the mind that EVERYONE is a tool of God.
Just sayin'

Well as of right now it seems that Obama has done nothing but drink a beer with the cop and the black professor. His polls numbers heading down but the liberals deny it untill 2012 when hes gone.
Seems to me that there are some folks here who are a bit jealous of Palin's new book which has surpassed the Clinton's. Kudos to Palin I hope she does well in her next time around..

My opinion that she is not fit for office has nothing to do with her book. I'd pick many people on this board to be president before I'd pick Palin.
But, I suppose if we want "GWB the sequel" (sequels are alwasy worse and in this case we're probably asking for a real life 2012)), go for it. America deserves it.

They'd both be a hell of an improvement over what we're experiencing now.

I dunno, I'm doing pretty good. I have a job and health care and I'm making money. I think the only ones who aren't doing so well are those folks who got greedy in the real estate market.
Sorry your life sucks so bad.
Tell me, how will WWIII be better than what we have now...oh...right...full employment!

There are three legs to the GOP stool. Palin and Huck will be fighting in 2012 over one in Iowa, it seems. She might get some Club for Growth love but that is Romney's leg for now.

Billy Graham has pursued his evangelical agenda by frequently playing politics and manipulating politicians and other religious leaders to carry out his bidding for 60 years. If he's picked Plain as "God's Chosen Candidate" it's indicative of one of two things (or perhaps both): either it shows us just how deeply Bill Graham has slipped into senility; or it inadvertently reveals just how deeply favored by the Christian fundamentalist power establishment Palin actually is - and that can't possibly be good news for America.

You bring up a good point. Also everyone seems to be taking this as either an endorcement of her book or political career, when IMO it's not. It's just a simple compliment and obeservation.

Any day now there should be a ThinkProgress, Common Dreams, or Huffington Post expose on how horrible Mr. Graham is and how the new accusations that he abused his family have not been answered. Sigh......

To find out how much of a prick Billy Graham is all one has to do is listen to him on the Nixon tapes.

Oh, c'mon! We're talking about Billy Graham not Bing Crosby. If Billy couldn't scare his kids shitless with tales of eternal torment in a lake of fire, well, he's not really much a tent-preacher now, is he? :lmao:

Nothing could be better for the Democrats in 2012 than for the Republicans to nominate their winking loose cannon.

Nothing could be better for the Democrats in 2012 than for the Republicans to nominate their winking loose cannon. Going Rouge: The Republican Bloodbath Continues...
First off, I doubt the comment came from Billy Graham. Most likely Franklin Graham, on behalf of his father. I have doubts whether Billy knows what he had for lunch 10 minutes ago.
Second, she ain't gonna win shit. She'll never make it that far, because the primaries are going to destroy her. In politics, Republicans are not as polite as Democrats, and you will see attacks on her that make anything we've seen so far pale in comparison, especially since she has 3 more years to rack up a whole slew of Bloopers, Boners & Practical Jokes. They will have sooooo much material to work with!
And a prediction: a lot of her current supporters on this board will be right there attacking her once they've decided that Romney or whoever has a shot at beating Obama. They will kick her to the curb in a Palin *wink* and deny ever wanting her to lead them.

I've thought for a long time that the inexplicable conservative zeal for Palin was more than anything related to the fact she's a fundie. Never underestimate the power of religious fundamentalism.

She'll go 3rd party - which should really keep Dems in office. Unless the Dems split - wow, I would like an election with 4 major parties to chose from....that's a few step forward.
Palin/Beck vs Huckabee/Bachmann:madlaugh:

Any day now some people will wake up to the fact that Shooting The Messenger is disingenuous and the lazy way to make a point. I guess substance means nothing to those who practice it because it's the cheap way to get into the debate. :dizzy:
