Willing and ready, well except for the vocab thing but no one want's to talk.
Well, that's rather insulting to your members.

It's only insulting those members that can't fit that description. I really have a goal for this site...and some people just don't seem to fit into that goal. They could be on the right or the left. I don't give a crap...I wanted a site where I could have a civil intelligent debate. Some members are impeding this. We are getting a TON of traffic here but very few new signups. One has to only read a few threads to see why. Full of crap imho. They might start off good but rather quickly turn into playground antics. A new rule may be coming.
It's simple really...either you are arguing a point or you are just arguing. I don't want members that just argue.

Interesting. Perhaps one would like to understand that one perhaps might not like arguing and has very limited time on the computer and is giving what time one has to it. I am sure there are many here who are excellent debaters.

The HELP WANTED isn't a pink slip to current members. It's a call for help from lurkers or existing members that wish to bring the sites debates to a higher level.

I've seen quite a few people register, post in one of CWNs threads and lose all hope for humanity. People come to debate with people who aren't extremely racist morons and leave after reading a post from CWN.

And you advocate 'shooting' people who don't espouse to your beliefs about gay marriage?
Pot meet kettle?

I brought a friend in here too. She saw posts by Stoner and CWN and said:
"Oh, hell no!"
And she's a Republican.
Ehh.

To be fair I am sure some conservatives come here and read posts by some of our more vocal liberal members and get the same reaction. This is ultimately the difficult part. Attracting both sides yet attempting to keep debate civil. This site does seem to reflect rather well the polarization of American politics. Less and less are the moderate middle ground people. I suspect they are tired of people on either extreme and just stopped paying attention. The left and right create issues to attempt to draw in those in the middle. Everything from immigration, gay marriage, and global warming. All fairly bullshit topics imho that aren't top of my list for politicians to address.
I also don't understand how people get upset over CWN...this is a guy that doesn't really argue with people...he simple posts mini tirades in a half-entertaining way. I consider him a sort of DF sidekick...whenever a joke is told you have CWN chuckling.
Anyways...today will be some changes. I do want us to be more attractive as a political debate site than we have been.
