Here's a story that should make all the gun enthusiasts and Second Amendment fans happy.
Pick on someone your own caliber. (http://newsgrinder.blogspot.com/2007/03/pink-pistols-self-defense-for.html)

Sorry bout that,
1. In response to Buck Wheats link.
2. I say all folks non gays, should arm up.
3. And when we encounter gays, be ready to protect ourselves from them.
4. Other wise, we could see some pinky killings, for no reason.

I like the Pink Pistols in SF. They are a group of homosexual gun lovers! Personally, I'm tolerant of, but not "in love with" gays. Basically, this means that I don't really think about or care about their sexual preferences, but I also would rather not see that kind of thing in public if possible. I'm not anti gay, but I'm not actively pro gay either. At the same time, I contend that they deserve to exersize their right to self defense, just like everyone else.

Considering it'd be toxic waste, maybe so.:(

Anyone want to join my "Blue Bazookas" group? We're a bunch of armed angry drivers given to bouts of uncontrollable road rage.
Pink Pistols....geez LOL!

I see nothing wrong with weapons at all. When I was in the military I carried both a M-16 rifle and a 9mm pistol. Personally, I do question the motives for why people feel the need to have and carry weapons. If you do it for sport like target shooting or carry it in the wild areas of Alaska to defend yourself from bears, then to me that seems reasonable. When you buy weapons out of fear, especially of other people, I think you are just fueling your paranoia that other people are out to get you. When people act out of fear they tend to get sloppy. They let fear rule them and keep loaded weapons out in the open "in case they need to reach it quickly". As a gay man, I do not plan to live my life in fear, nor do I feel the need to keep a weapon. I do know that people can attack me for being gay, but I think it is even worse to live my life in fear. I think that having a weapon gives you a false sense of security.

Underdawg, this is one of the very best posts on the subject of gun owning and use that has ever been posted on Democratic Forum. Congratulations on your clarity of thought and recognition of the dangers of paranoia.
If we could nominate a "poster of they year," you'd get my vote for sure.
