Well, it's about time the oil corporations were made to sweat; gasoline prices increasing every year and the corporations reporting record high profits quarter after quarter while the average American has to wonder what he or she has to give up in order to drive to work. Also, the rising cost of gasoline and diesel fuel also causes the costs of products to go up, since the extra expense is going to be passed on to the consumer. It is also interesting to note that all the funding for alternative fuel research is coming solely from independent sources. Considering that oil is a finite resource, this seems to be rather shortsighted on the part of the oil companies.
