Will She Run in 2008?

She is saying she will try. I'm not trying to be sexist, but I just don't think women belong leading our country.

Why not?

I would love to see Rice VS Hilary in '08. I'd say there's a chance it might happen. :P

May I ask why?

i think that IF she does run, it will be the biggest mistake the democratic party will have made in a long time. I don't think america is ready for a female leader. I mean granted she practically ran the country when her hubby was in office, but still... we are just seeing women making it into mainstream senate... i think we have another 10-15 years before women can have a decent shot at becoming the leader of America

Deacon

I agree with you, but i think it will be a little longer before they are real competition

But i dont agree. American women are already so developed and having the ability to lead. Not only hilary clinton, others also can do it like male leaders

Thats a very interesting idea, but what will the rest of the population say about a woman running for president

IRoNiK

i mean, not to be mean or anything, but we all know what they say about female drivers... and if a female cant even drive or park a car, what makes them fit to run a country. i know i know, thats a huge stereotype and is wrong in many cases... just food for thought.

Rice seems to be more commanding to me here in India

You're not going to find a more polarizing political figure in America outside GWB himself.

The far left thinks she's a warmonger, the moderates think she will say anything to get elected the few and in between Democratic conservatives (Think DLC members.) know that she's vulnerable from every point on the political compass.

The 2008 primaries on the D side are going to be so incredibly bruising and ugly. They're going to eat their own and put the bloody winner up against a more or less united Republican party.

Result?

Defeat.

God I hope Hillary doesn't run. Her support for the war, and her and Lieberman's attacks on "videogame violence" makes me wish she never got into politics in the first place (besides First Lady).

Many people feel a woman may be our only hope, the guys are messing things up all the time. I think that unless some one good runs, a woman may well get the peoples vote.

It seems like all the good people that could run, don't want to run because of, all they would have to deal with.

i think Rice will be no match to Hillary...so democrats should not choose her

I think Hilary Clinton would make a fine president. she is wise, she has inside experience, she has ethics and values, she would balance foreign diplomacy and domestic issues. She has vision.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Sorry, you're serious?

Ethics?

Craig Livingstone, cattle futures, White House Travel Office, Billy Dale and the list goes on and on and on and on.

Values?

Her only values stem from focus group research. She's as much a leader as Terell Owens. She's poison.

However vote for her. Please vote for her.

Nothing would make me happier than to have her be the Democratic nominee.

She does poll well, and her support has been increasing steadily. This doesn't say much for the actual election but, what it does say, is that people are open to voting for her. She's also an expert politician and a good speaker. There's much hostility against her, but that hostility is largely in staunch republican camp anyway.

McCain would be the republicans best shot of defeating her, one I think probably would succeed. The problem is, you have to deal with your base. They don't seem very fond of him and may prevent a mccain nomination.

Though I agree Hillary has values. But, I feel that she focuses on the end result. She will do things that are politically advantageous now because she knows that, in the future, they are likely to increase her political power enabling her to carry out her real goals. For example, if she still wants to have universal health care then advocating that now may very well be suicide and would prevent that from becoming reality. But, if she holds back that belief, she may very well have the opportunity to eventually set up that policy in the U.S.

Anyone see her statement that "young people see work as a 4 letter word". She complains that young people expect to come out of college and get a $100,000 a year job, and thats lazy of them.

And then she apologized to her daughter, because she did the exact same thing. She is losing votes everytime she opens her mouth.

There's better democratic candidates our there then her.

The republicans will run rice as a VP.

Possibly the democrats will run hillary as a VP.

I find them both disturbing, not because they are women but some things they both have done or not done in the past for the sake of getting or keeping a job.
