Before you celebrate a non-event realize that Clinton had three press secretaries but the reality was 4; George Stephanopolus (Unofficial but gave more press briefings than the official P.S. at the time.) Dee Dee Meyers, Mike McCurry and finally Joe Lockhart.

You do not go through 8 years as President without major changes in every level of the executive branch. It's a recent phenomenon that VP's stay for 2 terms. Roosevelt had 3 VP's. So why would press secretary be any different?

If you want to whore up every personnel move as a partisan event or achievement that's fine. It just illustrates your complete lack of knowledge how the executive branch works and the ebb and flow of personnel through Washington politics.
