I have seen the "That source is not credible" remark a lot of times this week, so let's hear it out.

What news sources do you consider credible?

Sources not tilted radically to the left or to the right. Sources without a political axe to grind.

I know Boogy, but what sources do YOU consider credible. I mean we all know that a credible source is one without a political axe to grind, but which ones fall into this category?

I'm really serious about finding out what people consider credible and what they do not.

I'll start out with:

Washington Post
Newsweek
New York Times
Christian Science Moniter

ECW

I'd add

Wall Street Journal (even though the ed page is biased)
LA Times
Seattle Times
St Petersburg Times
CNN
CBS News
NBC News
ABC News
Editor & Publisher
UPI
MSNBC

I cross reference everything else to check out what they say versus the reliable source.

I'd add National Public Radio, Public Broadcasting System, and BBC America.

None of them... CNN makes it up... then everyone else copies it but makes it sound like their own.

I trust one source and one source only......... BBC News.

St Petersburg Times

ROFLMAO. St. Pete Times is one of the most extreme, left-wing papers in the country.

I should know, it's our local paper. Everyone that lives here knows about them. It's a running joke with the locals here. Everyone makes fun of the St. Pete Times. Our radio stations absolutely trash it all the time.

I do see why you would like it though. It certainly fits your political agenda.

And CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC and MSNBC?????? Are you serious?

LOL!

Well Stoner why not tell us which news sources YOU think are credible then? Oh that's right, you'd pick Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and Ann Coulter LOL.

C'mon, El! Stoner's not here to debate or even offer up any proof for the things he says. He lets someone else say something then he comes along and says words to the effect of "that's stupid" and then moves on. Will Stoner actually follow the topic of the thread and tell us credible news sources in his view? Don't count on it.

He spent a great deal of time whining that I wasn't staying on topic in the thread where he posted some crap Dick Morris wrote and then turns around and proceeds to gum up every other thread he touches with off topic comments. Look at the post before yours. He bashes my selections (which is not on topic) but offers none of his own. He's a troll. No more no less.

In the eyes of libs a credible news source is any one that suits their political agenda. Being truly credible or not is a non-factor. It just has to fit whatever point their trying to make.

Nothing more, nothing less.

As usualy, more liberal bashing from our resident pot head, but I see you have yet to name sources that YOU think are credible.

You whine about the sources others have listed, but won't list any of your own. Sad, pathetic, and petty, but not surprising coming from a pothead.

After reading your posts I thought I was on Free Republic.

I tend to look at most media with a skeptical eye and have found credibility problems with most. It depends upon the story and the facts they selectively include or exclude.

Most of the sites listed by the other posters in the thread have done both good and bad jobs. Some more so than others.

I trust them as a source but there isn't enough American content to qualify as my only source.

I usually try to go with sources that I've met personally. That doesn't leave a lot of room because I'm not the most worldly guy, but I've seen enough speakers through my local World Affairs chapter to see who I think is dead on and who I think has an axe to grind.

For example, when I want serious Middle East coverage, I go to http://www.joshualandis.com/blog/. His speech was so shockingly good that I would take just about everything he says at face value.

Also, if you guys have a local chapter of the World Affairs Council, I would strongly advise you to become a member. Look into it. You'll thank me.

Since no one else has the nerve to add this I will..

Fox News

/begin stone throwing now
:)

btw...
CNN
NYTimes
W. Post

I would add for credible newspapers although more and more the NYT has become slanted against the Bush administration since it does sell papers for them.

And no..I don't find Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh credible news sources because they are NOT news sources..instead they are commentators of the news.

They are entertainers, O'Reilly is a commentator.
