Um well it would bring us closer to global unity but I think it might mess with the economy just a bit.

I think most Canadians are too smart to throw their lot in with us.

Hi,

Thanks for voting....

Here is what I was talking bout, Right now We protect both.
Right now we feed and take care of Mexcio, and they still stay right where they are and never even try to become better. Its not the people of Mexico its Mexico, now first they would no be own by the U.S.
It would work like Europe, I knew a lot of you would vote no. But I want you too think about something...

My Plan to Unite The Americas.

1st Join Canada.
2nd Working with Canada and sending companise that pay min wage or more to mexcio to fix their economy and stop the flow into the U.S.
3rd Because of the income their will be getting at their new jobs will be able to buying better housing and health Care.
4th When they become able to fully join and no longer a 3rd World Nation we let them in.

They are right at our back door they are not going away and they are running to come to the U.S, we are can fix this problem are let it go.
I think we should Unite The Americas. But this would take about 50 or more year to complete, One more point we are giving them money to keep going and their Gov is taking. So it would be sometime before that would work, but I did not mean we would bring it into Our United States just Unified the 3.

If you're referring to me, I've lived in canada and I really enjoyed the year I spent there. I wouldn't want it to essentially become a u.s. state. It's not some distant place that I have no connection to.

Considering the u.s. is 10 times the size of canada in terms of population, has a larger economy, and is a larger player on the international stage, canada would be swallowed up. And many of the more progressive practices of canada would be at risk as well.

Well I was not talking about Canada Becoming a State, I was talking about moving closer together in Partnership. And with that Partnership they could help Mexcio and if Mexcans could find work there they would not come here.

Now Mexico would take about 50 year to bring out of the Hole they are in.

I was saying that we should join together to Unified not as a One Nation but in a United Partnership, We already protect them why not show are Unification. This is a new world we live in now and we will need a strong working Mexio and a Strong Partnership with Canada.

You mean like the United Kingdom, with all the members still being separate countries but working closely together to make all it's members content? I don’t know from what I’ve seen the U.K seems to only improve England, though I could be mistaken. After all I am an ignorant America.

The United States was founded on the idea that a bunch of independent states (AKA mini-countries) would band together for their own protection and benefit. That is, the entire existence of our country is based on welcoming in other entities to our alliance. As such, if Canada or Mexico - or any other country on the planet - want to join us, I have no problem at all.

With regards to joining the US, Canada and Mexico into a greater alliance, I'd say that's somewhat redundant. And alliance of an alliance of states seems like an extra level of 'alliancehood' that can be easily cut out... Of course, Canada is pretty much the same way, except they call their states territories. You could easily call the territories states, have them join the US, and pretty much be done. Mexico you'd probably need to break up, too. I've always thought that Texas should have been broken into a couple of states, but that's another discussion...

Yes, let's create a macro government over the others! Our current system sucks, so let's do it again, only on an even bigger scale! Doing the same thing over and over again is the definition of insanity. Al told, I voted 'no', just as I would if this was about the EU or UN.

i am guessing it would be like a mini U.N. , and we all saw how that turned out. Rebellion in the Gaza, Iranian Nuclear power, 9/11, etc.

It will turn out just like this. a one world economy and partnership is a waste of time and money, just like an america partnership would be.

Are the people who live in these countries going to have any say in it? Or is that a bit too democratic for todays world?

I didn't vote yes assuming it meant merging our governments, thats a bad idea. I would like to see our governments work better to merge our economies and people. It shouldn't be such a chore to go between the three countries. Maybe even add a few major highways to connect the entire continent. Maybe even adopting a single currency.

National Gov't breaks the law, starts wars, overtaxes and ignores Constitutional protections...So let's create and international government...No thanks, one coercive thugocracy is enough for me.

Yeah. The best way to achieve unity would be to reduce immigration and trade restrictions between states X, Y, and Z. Peace through prosperity! 8-)

Hey,

Thanks for posting, I know it would be a large project.
And at this time it would most likely not work, but I say that it will happen one of these days. We protect both and they really don't do a lot for us, on the other hand there would not be anything they would bring to the table that we could gain from. But we need to Stop Mexicans from just coming here without doing it the right way, this makes us unsafe because we have no idea who could be coming over at anytime. Mexicos Gov is helping their people brake our laws and get in the U.S, we should told them STOP braking our Laws. We do need workers from Mexico but not if its going to make us unsafe, I think we should design a 2 level Wall. This wall will be 12 feet tall and on the other side 12 feet deep, this will mean that on the other side it will fall 24 feet and Wall 2 is 24 feet up. So they would need to jump over 12 feet walls with a hole 24 feet deep, don't get me wrong I want good people here. Thats what make us so great, but if you brake our laws getting here what make you think they will respect them when they are here. This wall is to protect us, if we report each worker who wishies to work here we will know who they are. They will pay taxes and get paid Min-Wage, this will cut down on how many jobs they can get but it is wrong to pay less. They would be given a Workers Pass, it would be very detailed unlike what we have. This would have their Photo Finger Prints and information from their hair and blood, This information would be added to their data base. That way they will only have one card per person, I say this because we must protect what we hold so close. Our Freedom, they will have to pay into taxes just like every one. They must be here 60% of the time and 5 years before they can become an American, after they meet this they will be able to Vote and will have the rights as other Americans enjoy. I do think they should take a class in American history and to learn Speak in Eng thats passing, I think that their kids and wife should be able to join him/her but will need the same detailed Card Information. His/Her Kids must goto School like other kids, this information must be keeped up with that program even if they are home schooled. I would be for a One ID for all States, same for the Worker Pass.

This is just idea, I would need to set down and plan before I did anything. I think we need to do that more then what we do.

We can't even take care of our selves, so let's adopt 2 more countries. Brilliant idea. I think we need to re-introduce the idea of America as a sovereign nation, not do more to undo that notion. There are too many kooks out there with their new world orders and their one global governments. Sorry, no thanks, I want no part of it. As Firefox posted in another thread, no Utopia is going to work for, or be wanted by everyone. So where do the rest of us go when the kooks form their "American Union"? I guess I'd join the rest of the expats down in Belize or something. I hear Panama's nice too.

Look up spp.gov .

The tri-nation union is already on the march.

I vote no. To hell with both Canada and Mexico. We should never compromise our freedoms/independence.

Hey,

I was just wanting to see what every one thinks about this, the only other way would be building a wall and having Troops watch the borders.

Please Check the Photo I have uploaded,

It's an interesting idea. I wonder what people from the other two nations would think about this.
