Pamela Turner, a Tennessee teacher who had sex with a 13-year-old student and was paroled after six months of a 7-10 year sentence as rearrested after violating the terms of her parole. Evidently she created a web page and used it to send messages to the student. Looks like Mary Kay LeTourneau all over again; wonder how long before a TV-movie comes out.

TV movies about such things never surprise me. People love sensational stuffs, and the more twisted the better.

You know I resent not only the fact that this is becoming more common but I'm willing to bet you dollars to donuts that the problem is much worse than reported.

That twit in Florida said it was because she was bi-polar. Hello, Earth to reality? I've dealt with bi-polar relatives and friends. They don't go raping children. Attorneys though, they'll say anything to excuse bad behavior.

paranoid schizophrenics are usually denied any sort of "insanity defense", there's no way a bi-polar defense will have any chance of success whatsoever.

I don't think this has anything to do with bipolarism (is that a word?), but more a symptom of a general breakdown in morality and ethics. I'm also sure that it may be more pervasive than society realizes, after all, look at all the charges being brought against priests and the admission of the Church regarding cover-ups. Who's to say schools don't do the same, if only to avoid lawsuits?

She just wanted more pity.
