A little too much sterotyping, but that's what makes it funny. Thanks Zo, there is no better way to wake up than with a good laugh!

I watched episode 1. I think it's great, but I have a strong interest in the subject matter. Attempting to look at it objectively and correct for my own personal interest, it seems like an average, or a little above, average show. The new Imam (forget his name, the guy from toronto) seems a little stiff in the acting department. Probably the character I liked the least, even considering the fact that having a character from toronto always makes me like them a little bit more since I can relate to them a little better, was the new imam. My favorites so far are the out of touch former imam, the daughter of the contractor and muslim convert (the white woman), and the priest.

Lily, I think with a show titled "little mosque on the prairie" you kind of expect stereotyping to an extent, but one of the main points of the show (beyond comedy) is to show that muslims are like everyone else. Without showing the things that are obviously muslim (focus on religion, hijabs etc.), it would lose something. Now if there's 3 or 4 shows about muslims like this then I agree, but I think show religious muslims is a lot more effective for a first show than showing people who are not identifiable muslims in terms of beliefs and behavior.

Making a show about muslims where the only mention of Islam is during a wedding or funeral wouldn't be as groundbreaking.

I also think the inclusion of a muslim convert is a nice touch as well.

I'm waiting to see one plot that I read about, but apparently is not touched on in the first episode. That bigoted talk show host is supposed to have a crush on the muslim coffee shop owner. That should be interesting.

Ok, looking at it that way, I suppose if you want to get the characters known, you would have to have the first episode more sterotyped than the following episodes.

I agree with you about the Iman from Toronto. While the others weren't as stiff, he seemed to be reading his lines. I'd really like to see the episode you were talking about, since the coffee shop owner is my favorite......she's got attitude! The goat, the starting of Ramadan.......and my favorite......here's your lattee.

I'm so excited! I just went to turn the TV off in the living room and happened to catch an ad for this. My cable company gets it.

I took it off my TIVO. Watched last nights and didn't find it funny. It was too predictable.

But the old Iman going Trick or Treating was a hoot!.

I found a site that will let you download YouTube video Zo.

Video Downloader (http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php)

Once downloaded you will need the FLVPlayer to view the YouTube formatted video.

There is also a Firefox extension you can download to do the same thing and it is available at that page. :D
