Hi,

2008 is going to be the biggest loss for the Republicans then ever seen before, even Bob Dole is going to be shocked.

Republicans have no one who is really a key for us to win, the Dems have some Powerful All-Stars that would give Bush a run for the money. But we have no Bush in 2008 and no Republican who is a real Republican who can get votes on both sides, unlike the Dems where they have Strong and Very well known People running on their side. Republican have nothing, I know we have one or two right? They are not what I would call real Republicans, and will not win the Far Right Vote and will not get the Far Left Vote. Hillary Clinton is at the right place at the right time in a sea of weak Republican Candidates, And if you liked a Bill in the white house your going to like her as well. I'm a Republican but I see it very clear. We will need to find someone next round.

With twice as many GOP Senate seats up for grabs as Democratic ones, the Senate will stay Democratic as well. MAP is correct about the GOP candidates. The only ones solidly in the conservative column are not well known and would have a difficult time making the grade.

When Bush was elected it was the Dems and Gore that were known best..it didn't seem to help them. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Often a Presidential candidate and winner will be someone you don't expect. Primaries are very odd. For a while it looked like Dean was gonna be the runner..instead it was Kerry who was not an early favorite. I believe 2008 has people that will come out of nowhere just the same. It could be a Dem...or GOPer but one thing I guarantee...it will be unexpected.

I really think that Hillary Clinton is going to Win, unlike John Kerry and Al Gore she is at the Right Time and Place to win. If there was ever that Time and Place its now and she knows it, but your right it can happen and I'm not trying to Quite on it before we even vote. But we are going to find it very hard to pull a Rep whos getting the Church going right like me, plus the Dems votes to win. And the well know "Reps" who act, walk and talk like a Dem will not get Rep votes or Dem votes.

But we can all hope one who has a strong rep view will win, but I'm not holding my breath on it.

But I hope your right, do you have some one who could be that raising star?

Giuliani and Mc Cain seem to be the favorites for the Republicans. I Don't have a link, but heard on some news show I was listening too. People polled that favored Giuliani for his strong leadership after 911 didn't even know his stance on abortion and gay marriage.

I think it's too soon to tell. Most that start out this early ususally burn out.

In a race to win, he would lose. Nice guy and great Rep, but he can't keep up with Hillary Clinton, he will be dust in the wind.

There are really good Reps out there who I would like to win, but that don't mean they can. We would need some one who would say "We need change but we must make change, not hope for it" other wise we will lose.

Mark

Edit: But that still don't mean we will win.

"Dems gone wild"

I was just watching Fox News a channel thats on 24/7 and the Dems are going crazy "We are pull out now or when I'm in office", look thats crazy talk and DEMS step away from the drinking and take your pills.

You can't win by hate alone, pull it together and keep the change is good Idea. If you go and start this deep hating now, you will see no end. If this keeps up I maybe wrong, if Dems can slow it crazy talk then maybe it will be ok. Hate is no something we need to run the U.S, Hillary needs to stand out and say "We need to do something, we will do something and if you vote for me I will get it done. Not this war is wrong and bush is Evil and we must leave now!!!!!!!!!.

Maybe Bob Dole is looking better, hes not a Crazy Person spitting hate out.

When I used "Bob Dole" it means some one who would never win even if you only had one person running.

When I looked at no one on my side that could win and the Dems with All-Stars who not only are well known, but the Top of the Dems party.

We do have a whole year but Iraq would have to change, I mean really change and Iraq lead troops would have to be over 60%.
And our troops would have to be backup.

But I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Sen. Hagel impressed me on This Week. I don't know too much about him though. Hasn't announced yet whether he is going to run, but did say he considered running as an Independent.

If he can pull the money and really get out there he might have a chance, but its hard for any Independent to win.

Hillary cant win, she is just too polarizing a figure in this country. Like Bush, for every person you find that loves her, you can find 2 who hate her. The right will come out in record numbers just to vote against her.

When it all shakes out I think Edwards or Richardson will end up being the democrat nominee. Both sides will try to run a centrist candidate. Guiliani is much more of a centrist than anyone of the top dem candidates. Hillary plays herself as a centrist but she is really not.

This is the most up for grabs election I have seen in my lifetime. It should be interesting. By that I mean, no clear frontrunner on either side of the aisle. There is no incumbant, no Vice President running, its going to be wild. I look forward to the theatre of it all.

I do acknowledge the scandalous unsophisticated and outright unskilled and unitellectual way the republicans have been running the U.S but to suggest the republicans will be buried in 2008 by the democrats is to display the uncunniest if not funniest albiet reckless analysis needed in politics moreso at such a high level as but this one.
For starters, this election will be correctly rigged in favour of the republicans because of a number of reasons.Firstly, the ousting of republicans from power is without a doubt going to be cheered upon by al-queda alongside many foes of America and this is going to weaken the world position of America. So naturally the whole state machinery is going to work flat out to ensure no democrat rules the U.S maybe for the next 15 yrs or more.Has Iraq been sorted out yet?NO!! And you tell me the next leader will be a democrat-my foot!!! Under normal circumstances the republicans wont win this poll but here we are now basing the arguement on the international future of the U.S which i am 100 percent certain will crumble should the democrates take over moreso at this time of American history where such things as the invasion of Iraq, the death of Sadaam, the 11 september fiasco all happened under the eye albiet blind of the republicans.

I don't know what to do first, I might need to borrow some governmental conspiracy goggles to help me sort this one out.

I would suggest instead of borrowing what you term government conspiracy goggles you just borrow an elementary book on international politics and that could help a long long way.

I'm just taking this one sentence to discuss Harry. I'd like to know what has made you come to this conclusion? I understand that the Democrats have only had the majority for a little over a month now, but we were told that the increase of violence during the elections were the fault of the elections and it seems that wasn't true.

Harry, let me first of all, thank you for the amazingly comedic posting. It has made my evening.

Secondly, since you have chosen to opine with regard to US elections, how would a book on international politics assist me in coming to a learned conclusion in a US affair?

After reading this, I look forward to a feisty and comedic response.

A book on international politics is relevent even when one is discussing just U.S affairs or elections because the U.S has by defination made itself an unavoidable powerfull world player and hence American elections are always dominated with more debates on foreign policy than anything else!!!This is why a grasp on international politics is recommended for any serious person interested in the dynamics of U.S affairs or elections.Show me a single U.S president who entered a presidential election and and did not have foregn policy blueprints as his main campaign punchline?
