Greetings Democracy Forum Posters!
It has come to my attention tonight that Buck Laser, my favorite person to argue with here, has recently suffered a heart attack and is having a couple of procedures done to strengthen his arteries and to make for better blood flow.
Please keep Buck in your thoughts for a quick recovery so that he can be back here to debate the issues of the day in short order.

1. Yes I pray Buck Laser will be back in the saddle better than ever.
2. Sorry to hear your not up to par.
3. I shall wait for your return, so we can hash it out.

Such sad news............but Buck's an ornery old cuss and I'm sure he'll be fighting this and be back as soon as he is able.
My thoughts will be with you and your family, Buck.

Hope everything turns out well for buck. My grandfather had 5 major heart attacks and some minor ones (didn't always go to the doctor) and survived every one of them. Hope he's just as lucky recovering from them!

I hope everything is okay for Buck. Hopefully he is feeling a little bit better and watching tons of mind numbing television. Always the best when you're sick.
Hope you recover quickly, my friend.

I just spoke to Buck's wife as they were just walking thru the door, and he is HOME ! I passed this info to Boogy, thinking those who like Buck would want to know what was going on since he hadn't posted for a few days.
As Boogy said, Buck had a small heart attack on Thursday and on Friday he had a process called angioplasty where a balloon is inserted into the artery, and blown up to increase a flow of blood to the heart. He rested over the weekend, and had a stint placed in the artery to also aid in the ease with which the blood flows to the heart. I am amazed at the advances in cardiac care, and the speed in which one can have surgery, and how quickly one can bounce back from such a major surgical procedure.
His wife gave me the A-OK to pass this information to everyone on this forum, since he is so well-liked here. I want to thank-you for all of the words of support for Buck, because caring aids in healing. Again, Thank-you all so very much !
Thank you for the update, Sherri. Sounds like you are lucky enough to know him in real life. From what you said, hopefully he will be back soon.

Lily,
I have never met Buck, but we became fast friends on another forum and had I known this sooner, I may have jumped on a flight to see either him, or seek to aid his family in any way I could.
I am sort of glad I didn't know, because I probably would have carried out flying to see if there were any way I could aid his family. I guess that is part of the "saviour complex" that comes with my training, and past professional life. But, I am glad I didn't know because I may have ended up crowding either he, or his family. I am just thrilled that my dear friend, whom I have never met, is well on the road to recovery.
Everyone's good wishes will aid him as he is on the road to recovery. Thank-you all for your finest wishes for him.:)

Sherri........I took this the wrong way.

Well, I am back....Kinda wore down actually, with some chips and dents here and there, but I guess getting back home five days after a heart attack means I'm a pretty good bullet dodger!
I truly appreciate the good wishes from so many of you. I can feel the effect of those wishes as my recovery goes on. As many of you know, I do get a little passionate on some topics...but "mellowing" is not in my list of tricks, so I guess I'll go on being an irritant when I think I need to be and cheering on the good guys.
About Sherri--we've never met in person at all, but we've helped each other through some fairly rough times, and we do talk by phone pretty regularly. Both of us have had some health issues we don't enjoy dealing with, but we've helped each other over the rough spots.
My family has been superb in helping, too. Both my children live in Austin, along with their children, ranging in age from three to fourteen, and there's nothing like a dose of grandkids to cheer one up.
