Sorry bout that,
1. But all Cops and other officers of the law should be equipped with bullet proof head gear.
2. On-top of bullet proof vests, they need helmets when making common everyday stops on motor vehicles.
3. And in other high danger positions.
4. We have the capabilities to protect the entire head from armed attacks.
5. And there's really no reason to keep allowing these officers the added risk of not being fully protected.

At face value I agree with you. But I would like more information. What is the cost? How many lives will be saved? How many lives are currently lost? When will it be used?
A storm of links please.

I suppose headgear could be optional but from personal experience headgear effects your peripheal vision.

Sorry bout that,
1. But I propose high tech head gear.
2. Head gear that has a three camera's at the back, with a screen on the shield in the front to monitor what's happening behind them.
3. With high tech listening devices that can pick up faint sounds of weapons being made ready.
4. Also motion detectors that warn the officer when a object is being hurled or swung on them from any angle.
5. Also with built in radar controls to monitor any vehicle in any direction and take snap shots with the on board cameras that are mounted in all directions.
6. The camera would focus in on any speeding object and alert the officer which direction to look by the on-board screen in his shield, or wind shield of his car.Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*
7. Time a date stamp included, for legal purposes.
8. Mase dispenser would be included, with electro shock projectiles to subdue radicals.
9. Penetrating sounds to subdue those in large crowds.
10. Automatic ear covers that open when sound alarm isn't being used, or no other safety feature is in use.
11. Form fitted see through polymers in its construction.

Does this exist or are you making up an ideal peice of equiptment? If it's imaginary, it's good. :D

Sorry bout that,
1. But I am proposing it, meaning I thought of it.
2. Also it would need an on-board computer, to be able to file reports via video
and record it while sending it to a computer in a central location at head quarters.
3. Also a paper link will automatically create necessary paper work, auto ticketing, with signed on a computer screen that is transmitted into the on board computer and head quarters.
4. The computer would create a paper ticket and be handed to the law breaker.
5. Being located in the car or motorcycle dash board.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and safer if we just had robots?

Nice. However, why don't think all of this for all.. Including overseas .
Submit your ideas to the government. Perhaps it is time for people with ideas such as this to to get their ideas known to places that can help them expand their ideas, rather than spout here.
Take action, perhaps talking here is not exactly making a difference. Look around your own life and get involved in your community. If I had just been here, complaining, I would have never made differences in my community. I got the roads fixed, I got the leash law enacted and in place, I got better police patrols.

That...would be heavy...My neck hurts enough wearing a normal helmet without all that crap on it for extended periods of time.

How much would these things cost? Seeing as it is for the cops, not a private group, the cost would eventually fall on taxpayers.

Sorry bout that,
1. But they would be expensive.
2. Also they will have a laser scanner that reads the drivers license UPC code on the back, where the cop could just ask for the ID then right then and there scan it, get a reading from the main computer, have it wired back to him immediately, over a cell phone if the perp was wanted for a warrant.
3. The cop would simple pull his gun, tell the perp to get out of his car or truck, whatever, and lay on the ground.
4. He arrests the perp, with out having to ever leave the perp.
5. This makes it better to apprehend the perps.
6. Better to not leave a suspect giving them time to think about what they may do.
7. So the cop can keep his eyes on him.
8. I should work on the design, and make billions.

Great. Greed is such a fun thing. How much will this cost taxpayers in the end?
