There will be two rounds. The first round will pit Libertarians against conservatives and liberals against independents (so there's the biggest difference in the final round). The winner of those two rounds will then compete against each other.
The debaters in each group will be asked two questions (the 3rd and 4th most popular respectively), libertarians vs. conservatives get asked the same question as liberals vs. independents, each with 4 responses each. Who answers the first question first will be determined by alphabetical order, and then the other person will answer first on the second question. So it will look like this:
Question 1:

Question 2:

Each person has 48 hours to make a response and, if they don't, they forfeit their turn. Hopefully it won't take nearly that long.
After the debate, there will be 48 hours for people to vote on the winner of each. All members of the forum can vote on the winner of any of the debates, and the vote will be private. In the case of a tie the period would be extended until the tie is broken (a mod will close the poll as soon as they notice the tie is broken).
Then the second round would include the winner of each, with the top two questions. The same process would be repeated, except a tie break question (5th most popular) would be used if there's a tie in the vote, with each person getting 1 response to state their position on it. If there's still a tie then the 6th most popular question will be asked.
The voting results for questions are as follows:
1. What is the best way to solve the current problems in our healthcare system? Would a majority of Americans benefit more from nationalized healthcare or from deregulating healthcare?
2. What should the U.S. role be internationally? (Intervention vs. Protectionism)
3. Should the constitution always be followed to the letter or should we make exceptions under certain conditions?
4. What does "success" look like in Afghanistan? How long should we be there? How much of our money should go toward rebuilding it, versus getting the Taliban out?
5. Should there a right to die with dignity? Why or why not?
6. Are Unions good or bad for America?
The debates begin tomorrow, 5/28.
Edit: Round one of the election debate has finished and Lance and Northeastcynic have been voted the winners. Round two will begin shortly.
