Governor Taft's numbers continue to languish; DeWine in serious trouble. Voters say Dems better share their values.

With Ohio Gov. Bob Taft's job approval numbers continuing as the worst in the nation, and with just over one in four (28%) giving incumbent Republican Sen. Mike DeWine good marks for his work in Washington, one of the nation's premiere swing states appears ready for a Democratic take-over, a new Wall Street Journal/Zogby Interactive poll shows.

Just 6% give Taft good marks for the job he is doing leading the state, the survey shows. In the Senate race, a head-to-head match-up against Democrat Sherrod Brown, the congressman from northeast Ohio who is giving up his seat to challenge DeWine this year, Brown leads DeWine by a 46% to 37% margin.

Brown's margin over DeWine closely mirrors the sentiments of voters statewide, who said that, by a 43% to 35% margin, the Democratic Party leaders more reflect their values than Republican Party leaders.

Let's hope the democrats see some major gains this election year.

I remember many similar types of polls and pre-election predictions prior to '04 that seemed to paint a pretty picture for Democrats. I wouldn't get too excited just yet.

The lesson I learned then is that the far-right spin machine can make voters fear anything that will benefit conservative Republican candidates. They made Kerry too much of a 'thinker' to be strong against terror--and we all know what poor leaders thinkers traditionally make, right?

They made middle America afraid of the gay marriage boogy monster that was going to send their precious children down the path to bestiality.

And already the machine is working for '06 to convince anyone feeling the pinch in their wallets that it's the past soft liberal Democrats' lack of attentions to immigration that have driven American's wages down and caused any economic pressures they may be feeling now. It's not the war, Bush's failed domestic policies, corporate pillaging or out-of-control pork waste--it's Pedro in the fields and Nanny Maria who've done us in.

sbannon: I think that you're right about the immigration thing, but I do think that you're going to see the religious right get back on the upswing demanding a Federal Marriage Amendment--although the last time this was used we saw just how far this got.

Sorry bout that,

1. But if the Voters feel Democrats reflect their Values, this Nation is in a World of trouble, and is more or less like The Titanic.
2. It will sink like a rock and soon.

Actually, if you really want to know what voters think you can look who makes up the majority in the House, Senate and who's in the White House.

Thanks for playing.

You lose.

I know. You got that right! That is why this country is so screwed up right now--IMO, of course.

BTW: You people in the GOP are going to get that Federal Marriage Amendment passed, aren't you? What stood in the way the last time? http://img236.exs.cx/img236/9268/scratchchin6hy.gif

Yeah, gotta hate that 4.6% unemployment rate, record home ownership, low inflation and moderate interest rates.

Country is going to hell in a handbasket.

Yeah, I love the way the economy goes up and down like a roller coaster. I surely hope that Dubya has not maxed out his credit card (http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/) yet?

Oh, and about that Federal Marriage Amendment--you guys are going to get that right this time, right?

Because, as we all know, poll after poll is showing immense satisfaction with the republican dominated government. And it is totally unheard of for anyone to ever change their mind over how an election went .

Let's see, did they change their minds in 96 or 98? No. 2000? Yes. 2002, 2004? Nope.

Yeah, it's only been 12 years now. They've really changed their minds.

Yeah I always hear negatives from the Dems about our current reality...but I don't see it and neither do most normal people.Â*Â*Yeah watch the news for the "immigration problem" but it's really not negatively effecting us.Â*Â*There are even positives about the immigrant workers that are good for the economy.

Personally I think the negativity and attack strategy of the Dems is what killed them in 04.Â*Â*Kerry didn't bring a message other than..."I am not Bush"...but who was he?Â*Â*His record was terrible and his wife was a nut job.Â*Â*Bush imho has the best cabinet giving him the best advice that any president has ever had.Â*Â*But hey..color me crazy and let's move on.

In 08 I think it will be a tough battle but in 04 they looked worse.Â*Â*The economy wasn't nearly as good.Â*Â*It really depends I think on the candidates.Â*Â*Many polls show that McCain can beat any Democrat out there.Â*Â*If he teams with Giuliani or Rice then it's all over.Â*Â*Hillary is a disaster waiting to happen.Â*Â*She will never be elected.Â*Â*As a former NYer...she was the worst damn senator ever.Â*Â*Totally useless.Â*Â*She basically took the seat for more power to get closer to a presidential bid.Â*Â*Odd they wanted Hillary to be President all the way back then.Â*Â*IMHO she already was President and she did a terrible job.Â*Â*Her health care package failed miserably.

If you're ever unhappy with the economy here's my suggestion.

Get a better job.

Start your own job.

Do something for yourself instead of bitching about what isn't being done for you.

Of course, if you want to keep bitching about everything in life here's a common sense piece of advice, nothing will change for you.

So you agree that the american public strongly supports the current government?

If I remember correctly, you yourself attacked them for not being true conservatives. I guess you forgot about that.

Actually, that only shows what voters thought.

And, that's IF the votes were counted fairly, and there's some controversy about that.
