Sorry bout that,
1. But from now on, I will no longer be re-posting when the GD jump feature eats another one of my threads, or posts.
2. I will do a small rant, and thats it.

Hi Chess, what are you talking about?

Sorry bout that,
1. But I thought we went over this before?
2. After finishing up on a post, I scroll down the page using my scroll deal on my mouse, then the pointer gets stuck in the jump feature, and spins it like a Las Vegas Slot Machine, when it stops where ever it randomly stops , I get to jump to that part of DF.
2. a) If I use back button, its still gone.
3. While my thread or post is lost.
4. This has always happened to me, I just bought a new mouse, still happens.
5. Why do we have the GD jump feature?
6. Does anybody use the damn thing?
Regards,
SirJamesofTexas

Aw, gee, Cheesy!! And it was your best post EVER!
maybe...
We'll never know, will we?
Buck, CHess has been pretty good natured about being ribbed. Here he is asking for help, not an opinion. Let's ease up, ok?

3. My last is always my best.

Chess, I'm not sure what you are talking about. There is post reply. Review post and Save as draft. If you hit post reply, there shouldn't be any trouble. The only times I have lost posts is if I, say go to google before hitting post reply and not opening another window before.
I think we can talk each other through this problem, like we did the other one. If so PM me, then we won't look like the computer illiterates that we are.;)

I always put my posts through microsoft word before posting. Maybe copy and paste it into word, then post it. That way if it disappears you still have it and all you have to do is copy and paste again.

I think Chess is talking about the Forum Jump dropdown box at the bottom of the forum listing. Is that the one Chess?

Only God (or maybe "Gawd") knows why CWN is losing his posts. But I know how I've lost some of mine. Sometimes, in the middle of posting a reply, I may want to check a fact or a date, so I pop over to Google. That works perfectly well in the other fora I post on. It doesn't work here, because unless you save your existing post as a draft, everything you wrote will be gone when you return to it. So what I do is to open a new instance of my web browser (Firefox), and run the Google--or whatever--check. Then I can return safely to my original post. The safer and surer way is to be sure you back your post up as a draft.
Now that I think of it, the same step--backing up your post before you "jump" would probably work.
One further observation: what happens to your posts may be a matter of what web browser you're using. I only noticed this lost message thing after I upgraded to the latest version of Firefox a while back.

Ok......I'm lost.
I may be out there in the dark on this one as well. :)
The only jump feature that I could find though is the Forum Jump dropdown on the bottom of the postings list for each forum.

Hi Lily,
I think you are on the detailed edit page. If I understand him correctly Chess is speaking of the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the page when you first click into a forum topic. The Forum Jump dropdown list is right below that.

Sorry bout that,
1. Yeah Boogy, get rid of it!
2. I mean have Labrocca get rid of it!
3. Its not needed.

Chess,
are you sure you are hitting the "post Reply" button before you go to the Forum Jump? If you do not hit that "Post Reply" button first, you lose everything. I do agree with you on the Forum Jump feature. I never use it.

Sorry bout that,
1. But I never used the jump feature.
2. But here's what happens to me.
3. I'm just about to click the post button.
4. Then some how the page moves down to much and my arrow of my mouse gets into the jump feature.
5. That bastards starts spinning like a freakin one armed bandit, in Las Vegas!
6. Ends up who knows where, and I get sent off to another area, then when I hit the freakin back button, everything's gone.
7. Smooth as Sh!t!, erased.
8. Happens a helluva lot.
