I don't feel any safer, nor does most people I know. All though our wallets felt lighter, all that money spent has not help us feel much safer. I'm sure we are a little safer, but there is still way to many holes left.

Well, it seems the terrorist attacks lately have been in other countries. If you want all the holes filled, then you would have to give up all your rights and live in a police state. Look at the flap over the so-called wire tapping.

My wallet doesn't feel lighter, but I don't feel more or less safe. I feel more bothered at airports.

Then again, I've never feared terrorism... if I lived in New York or something perhaps I would. I do think a difference has been made though, we took the fight to the terrorists and radicals. The terrorist threat within America has been lessened, but that doesn't mean we have eliminated the threat by any means.

I feel safer. I was in NYC and eye-witnessed the 9/11 attack. Today I live in Las Vegas and I feel safer. I know that Bush (whether you agree or not with tactics) will get the job done even if he has to bend the rules. Personally I think he is doing the right thing long term. Bin Laden continues to threaten us.

It would be next to impossible to judge fairly whether or not I feel safer since 9/11. Before 9/11 I think everyone was complacent that life was proceeding just like any other day and we didn't even realize there was a threat to our lives. 9/11 fundamentally changed our way of looking at our safety in the US.

Personally, I think too many people have again become comfortable in their everyday lives and don't even realize the constant threat that could be hiding around the corner.

Feelings don't mean squat, it's results that matter, though. Since there has not been a terrorist attack in the US since 9/11, I'd say the government has finally stepped up it's duty to protect us from threats since their failure on 9/11 and yes, I feel safer.

Do you think that after the war on Iraq the world will be a safer place to live in? Maybe this is not the case. Although terrorists are always plotting attacks on any nations, all of us have to get on with life and live it normally. We have to be alert but don't panick, this is what the terrorists want to see. We must not let it happen.

I do feel safer than i did 9/11. I feel that a lot of the things they are doing to make me feel safer are unconstitutional, but sometimes individual rights must be given up for national security. I do not agree with most of these regulations but i understand them. I am however very happy about the increased security in the airports, but i feel that we should have dealt with it before 9/11.

Thats a negative on me feeling safer, but then again I am in an area that would be hard pressed to come under some form of attack. The petroleum market terrifies me.

Let's see, since 9/11, our military has been considerably weakened by King George's idiotic imperial foray into Iraq. Iraq is now a greater threat as a training ground for terror than Afghanistan ever was, at least if you believe Bush's own CIA.Â*Â*Bin Laden is still at large and more popular now than he was before our Iraq invasion.Â*Â*Iraq continues to sink into civil war and more fine American soldiers die for nothing.

Add to that that our phones are being tapped and the books we check out of the library are being monitored.Â*Â*Homeland security is bad joke.Â*Â*If the DHS can't react to a hurricane where they had a full week's notice, we need not wonder how they would handle a terror attack.

Add to all this that our criminal president keeps threatening to start a regional and quite possibly a world war by launching another unjustifed attrack, this time on Iran.

No, I don't feel safer.

We're less safe today than we were before 9/11. Bush hasn't solved any of the problems and in fact, he's purposely ignoring some of the biggest. He's wasting money fighting in the Middle East, yet he couldn't find bin Laden if he was standing in front of him. We've got wide-open borders and in some areas, they are picking up 25-30% non-Mexicans who are made only too aware that they can wander in here any time they want

We don't have to lose our rights to be secure, the government just has to be willing to enforce the laws already on the books. Any bets?

This is more or less the same thing I was going to post. :D
