KNIGHTSVILLE, Ind. (WTHI) - Months ago, Rachel Jones was shocked to discover her 4-year-old's baby doll seemed to have a hidden message: Islam is the light.

Imagine her surprise when a game for her 8-year-old daughter's Nintendo DS had the same message.

Rachel said she bought the Nintendo game, Baby Pals, as a gift for her 8-year-old daughter after a good report card.

She had no idea the game also contained the hidden message "Islam is the light."

"We were sitting in the kitchen, and she was playing it," said Jones. "All of a sudden she looked at me, and I looked at her and she said, 'Mom, I think my baby said something.' And so I played it back, and it says 'Islam is the light.'"

The message on the doll and in the Nintendo game sound exactly the same.

The Nintendo game has an "E" rating, which means it's suitable for any age.

In a virtual reality setting, the child playing the game can feed the baby or teach it to crawl, among other things. It's only when the child gives the baby a bath that it repeatedly seems to say "Islam is the light."

Jones said she's angry this is the second toy she's had to take from her children.

"Not just my daughters' toys, but we have a son too," said Jones. "Now I feel like I need to listen to all of his little toys to make sure they're not saying it."

Nintendo's representatives said the game is manufactured by a third party, so they're not responsible for the content, but the game's packaging clearly states the game is licensed by Nintendo.

News 10 also contacted the game's manufacturer, Crave Entertainment, and we are still waiting on a call back.

The Baby Pals game can be purchased at a number of places, including Game Stop, Walmart.com, Amazon.com and Target.com.

I can see why you'd be less than thrilled, but the mother here is acting like it's something obscene. Do people think it's going to turn kids into Muslims?

If it's true the obscene part would be secretively seeking to brainwash the very
young, the nature of the message is secondary.

I'd have to question whether it actually says that. At least once a year there's a big brouhaha over some doll or action figure saying something questionable or outright obscene, but they almost always turn out to be a nutcase parent with an overactive imagination. The fact that this woman claims to have bought not one but two toys with identical hidden messages - sorry, but no way this is real.

I think that kind of proves my point. It doesn't even make sense that it would say both "Islam is the light" and "Satan is the king". Yeah, it kinda, sorta sounds like it says something like that - but it doesn't. Its random baby babble. The human brain is simply designed to pick patterns out of randomness. The same reason you have 3 people a week who claim to have Jesus burnt into their pieces of toast.

I saw and heard these at Wal-Mart, and although it does sound like they are saying that, it's like Drocket said -- baby babble.
When my daughter was first making baby babble, I could have sworn I heard all kinds of things coming from her. You DO NOT want to know how she pronounced "truck" the first few times.

Toy says 'Islam is the light'

It's an ugly doll anyway.

My daughter has one of those speaking games that I swore said "Severed Fingers". What it actually said was something completely different and in French. It's just a combination of bad audio, low quality samples, and over-active imaginations.

What a load of nonsense.

If it's true the obscene part would be secretively seeking to brainwash the very
young, the nature of the message is secondary.

How many kids in America believe a jolly fat man in a red suit jumps down their chimney every December 25th and leaves them presents, climbs up the chimney again, then takes off in a sleigh pulled by flying Reindeer with shiny red noses?

Personally, I'd rather the children believe THAT, than believe they will be rewarded in a Muslim "paradise" for blowing themselves up, along with as many "infidels" as possible.

Still this should be known to the parents before they buy the toy. If they have decided to raise their child to be another religion, then I can see why it would be upsetting for them to find a doll telling their kid about Islam.

The toy is not a monster, If I bought a toy like this and it said "Judaism is light" or " Shamanism is light " this wouldn't disturb me.
