How important is freedom of speech (or the 1st Amendment in general) to you? Should it be unlimited so one can say whatever, should it be restricted, or should it be curbed?
My opinion: unless it's threatening other people's freedoms or lives, then you should be able to say whatever, whenever.

Freedom of Speech is very important, however, there are some situations that it does need to be limited. Yelling fire for instance when there is none, is an abuse in regards to freedom of speech so rightfully it should be limited there.
Now, the question of what is harmful speech and what isn't is also subjective at times.

Harmful speech, like say, saying you hate all black people or calling Tom Cruise a dumbass?

One of the most important amendments IMO. Should only be limited in very extreme circumstances. Racist views, holocaust denial, hate speech shouldn't be illegal.

I personally don't think those are examples of harmful speech, but I know some people would.
Hate speech, IMO, should be allowed to a point. When it involved threats against someone, then it should be limited IMO.

I also think the FCC's role in censorship should be abolished.

I disagree there partly. I think the FCC should regulate stations in the same way the movie industry regulates movies with ratings.
Place a parental warning on stations instead that dictate what type of material is allowed to be said depending on what rating that station wants to be rated at.

Well the 1st Amendment, if I recall, prohibits the government from infringing on freedom of speech, and the FCC happens to be part of the government.

The FCC does not stop anyones freedom of speech. You are perfectly free to say whatever you want and the FCC will not stop you.

Freedom of speech implies FREE to speak..FREE being the operative word. The FCC punishes those that speak against it's rules.

You can say whatever you want to and not break the FCC rules.

Maybe, but make sure you tell that to Janet Jackson.
