Sorry bout that,
1. But I did a *New Study*, and it came up bad for Democrats/Liberals.
2. More than 84% of the homeless people out there are one time Democrats, they stoped voting after they ended up on the streets.
3. Yes, this *New Study* of mine, proves out its risky to be a Liberal.
4. It can end you up in dire straits.
5. Camped out underneath a bridge.
6. Begging for food.
7. Asking for some spare change.
8. Waiting in line for a sandwich.
9. I say its better to fall in line than to starve.
10. So if your a Liberal, be forewarned it may lead you to the end of the food line, and food chain.

Please post your methodology, so I can ridicule what is assuredly numerous and absurd flaws and total lack of adherence to any accepted science.
My hypothesis would be that most homeless are not registered as either Dems or Republicans, since most are probably not registered to vote.
Let me check..
.......checking........
Yes. I'm correct.

I've just published a study that proves that 98.9% of all the Highly Trained Political Biblical Advisors practice bestiality. The other 1.1% don't need to practice because they have it down perfect. I've got the statistics to prove it all right here at my desk.

You need an address to register to vote which means you can't be homeless and a registered voter. Of course that doesn't mean they weren't democrats before becoming homeless. IMHO...it's most likely they are. As for CWN's methodology...I think it's more like mythodology. :)

I'll be more than happy to ramp it down as soon as I find out which animals CWN no longer practices bestiality with. Which is it? Goats? Chickens? Calves? After all, my research is just as good as CWN's and it proves conclusively that Highly Trained Conservative Bible Advisors practice bestiality. And I'll post my proof just as soon as he posts his!:P

If I'm just expressing an opinion, I don't usually bother with a link but you will find that I can back up damn near everything I say with proof. You may find proof to be over-rated because of what can only be described politely as your "fringe beliefs" where proof is elusive at best.
You may try to tear down my PROOF but you have been unable to so far. It's why Flea Bit Monkey and DHard3000 don't post here anymore: they couldn't bring proof to the table either and got tired of me calling them on it. If anyone here needs a healthy dose of reality with a generous portion of proof to go along with it, it's you, dude, not me. But then you knew that already. This thread is proof in and of itself of that.

I would think that there will be a lot of homeless people coming from the red states who have not raised the minimum wages in many many years. There a certain lots of people who have voted Republican who are living in poverty and vote against their best interests because they believe that voting Republican is a vote for god and think that Republicans in congress will protect them from terrorism.
I think that they finally hit rock bottom when they lost too many soldiers in Iraq, lost too many good jobs, and they realized that voting Republican was not in their best interests.

Ah, well. It's all in MY court now, is it? Was I ever homeless? Not really, as I recall. Closest we came to it was having to stay an extra day in a motel in Chicago while we waited for our furniture to arrive from Dallas. Nope. I just can't think of a time when I was homeless. Sorry, Jimmy.
I did draw unemployment for three weeks in IL when I quit an untenable job. But I landed a much better one. But I never lacked a home, and except for the unemployment, never lacked an income. Homeless ‘apathetic’ about voting
By Cadiz Gomez
With more people living on the streets in Colorado Springs each year, the homeless population of Colorado Springs could potentially decide where Colorado’s nine Electoral College votes go in this year’s Presidential Election.
But this is unlikely since homeless people tend to be extremely apathetic toward electoral politics, according to recent interviews.
Colorado is a political battleground for this year’s Presidential election. With nine Electoral College votes at its disposal, the state comprises only a small percentage of the total electoral votes, but has become a focal point for Presidential candidates. Colorado, traditionally a right-voting state, may now be more or less up for grabs.
Accordingly, voter’s rights advocates and avid supporters of two of the primary Presidential candidates, Sen. John Kerry and President George Bush, patrol the streets and college campuses of Colorado Springs.
The push to get people to register to vote is shadowed only by the monumental effort to get registered voters to the poles in November. During a time when political fervor is at an all-time high in Colorado Springs, one of Colorado’s most conservative cities, every vote really does count.
So how about the homeless vote?
In 2000, there were approximately 1,920 homeless or at-risk people (households with income less that 50 percent of median income) in Colorado Springs, according to a survey conducted by BBC Research & Consulting of Denver for the City of Colorado Springs Community Services Department.
“Voting is a fairly minor issue [for the homeless],” says Bill Sisterson, Director of Housing and Homeless Services for the New Hope Center. The New Hope Center, formerly the American Red Cross Shelter in Colorado Springs, is run by the Salvation Army and offers temporary accommodations for homeless individuals.
“Homeless people are more inclined to be Democrats,” suggests Sisterson, “because Democrats tend to be more socially liberal.”
Housing subsidies, minimum wage, the management of Medicaid and the creation of jobs are all issues directly relevant to the homeless population.
If all homeless or at-risk people had cast their ballots in 2000, they would have increased the total voter turnout in Colorado Springs by approximately one percent.
Recent polls conducted by The Rocky Mountain News put President Bush ahead of Senator Kerry in Colorado by six points, though the difference grows and shrinks on a daily basis. If the homeless ratio were the same across the state, such voters could decide how Colorado will vote this year.

But that’s not likely if the attitudes of homeless people are similar to those of Mary, a woman who has been familiar with the homeless scene for the last eight years. “I don’t like this country,” she says. “I ain’t going to vote for [anything]. Leave me out of it. Just let me die and be left alone.”
Mary’s ardent disdain for voting is echoed amongst the inhabitant of Colorado Springs’ Acacia Park, known for its homeless population.
A fellow Acacia Park “resident,” Ron Redman, has a slightly different take on politics. “I’m satisfied with this country,” he says. “I’m United States Marine Corps.”
But even Redman’s dedication to this country reveals a certain contempt for the current administration. Of the war in Iraq, he says it was the president’s greatest mistake.
“Bush sent my little boy. He shouldn’t have started this stuff. Because there’s a lot of Americans what have had their children die over there. It’s not right.”
Neither Mary nor Redman are registered to vote. Mary cites indifference and a lack of a permanent address. Redman points to the fact that he is an ex-convict.
Similarly, neither is aware that they can both vote.
Though Colorado requires a mailing address for an individual to register to vote, all persons either living in a shelter or on the street can list certain shelters or homeless advocacy groups as their mailing address.
Also, once a person has served out the length of their sentence in prison and has completed the requirements of their parole, he or she must simply re-register to vote and they are legitimate voters.
Sisterson comments that homeless individual’s apathy may stem from the fact that they are “not plugged into normal publicity and public alerts.”
There is an equal push to get homeless people to vote as there is to get the residential population, Sisterson says. Regardless of the distribution efforts, the homeless population of Colorado Springs seems unconcerned with this upcoming election. The focus of their energy tends to be geared more towards where they will spend the night and where their next meal will come from.
When asked if they could change the direction our country is headed in terms of peace, governmental institutions, and the attitude towards the homeless, just by contributing their votes, Mary and Redman go silent.
“It would be a waste of time,” Mary says finally, shaking her head.

'Fessor, I think you've nailed the facts about the homeless, and about poor people in general, and voting. When people have to struggle day to day just to live, they don't have much time to think about politics or political theory. Although we've always had homeless people around us, they only impinged on the national conscience when the states began to abandon their mental health programs and mentally ill people were turned out of the hospitals and residences. I've seen statistics suggesting that as many as 80% of the homeless are mentally incompetent in one way or another--I'd guess that substance addiction would be a major factor, too.
It's really a pity that CWN's world view makes it impossible for him to comprehend the world as it actually is, because it might shock him into some accidental humanity. But given the lack of character he's shown here, I suspect my ridicule is more effective than real facts.

Funny but conservatives such as yourself Chess are the ones encouraging jobs to go overseas and thus putting people out of work and onto the street. I also see conservatives siding with big business instead of the workers. Nope sounds like conservatives are the ones that don't care.
