Well, it looks like I will be the third non-spammer poster in the Advertising forum...

I've been developing a website for nearly a year now and I'd like to see what you think of the forum skin for my upcoming website.
http://www.eglive.com/
The website isn't going to be just a forum lol, this forum skin has been up for a long time. We will be covering the gaming industry, I have a large and extremely talented writing staff and a solid programmer to the site up.
The website was actually up for over a year, we had over 250 reviews and over a thousand news posts.
Heres an example of the old EGLive back in 2004, http://web.archive.org/web/20041023034508/http://www.eglive.com/ please note that the Waybackmachine doesn't load pages right and thats not even close to what the actual website looked like.

Bobby, I've looked at it three or four times, and each time I've been more impressed. It's very clean, and I think the colors are bold and unique. I guess the only question I have is what it'll look like when it starts carrying advertising.

Also, I'm just curious--how much flexibility do you have when you design a site using existing forum software? Can you affect the speed of your website with your design? I just don't know that much about forum software.

You can make it look however you want it to look really. I just don't want to stray from the average forum look too much. The more graphics you have, the slower the load times will be.

I wasn't sure if I should post these but what the heck, I need comments.

If the flash thing on the front page doesnt load refresh the page. I'd like some comments, what do you like about the design and what don't you like. Comments like "its not my cup of tea" don't help me at all. I understand there will be people who don't like it but I want to know why.

Bobby.......I hate to be negative, but I'm not crazy about the yellow with the red. Also, are they all suppose to look the same?

Yellow and red are two pretty strong colors but I feel the white and gray cools them down a notch. They are all part of one website, I told the designer to make them look very similar.

Everyone should take note that none of these pages have been customized to look right in Internet Explorer, they look perfect in firefox though. I will be fixing the IE issues asap.
