Does everything in the economy have significance? are things significants to everyone? how is responsibility measured? how is responsibility justified?
I think the most basic of questions, no discussion is significant if we dont understand significance. I think we all understand it, its natural, we just dont always see it clearly.

Hi DearS and welcome to Democracy Forums. Could you expand upon your original question a bit to possibly give an example of what you mean by significance?
I look forward to your commentary.

Yeah your post is similar to "what is the meaning of life?". You should be more specific really.
Does everything in the economy have significance?
The short answer is YES...to a degree that varies with each thing.
are things significants to everyone?
The answer to this one is easy. NO.
how is responsibility measured?
Measured in what sense? There are formulas in economics that are used but I don't believe there is a formula to measure responsibility. In capitalism it's money that is the motivator. So in a sense the more money you make...the more responsible you are. Personally I always used a persons keys to measure their responsibilities. The more keys the more thing they are responsible for. However I can't imagine Bill Gates even using a single key.
how is responsibility justified?
I don't understand this question. If responsibility is formulated somehow from money and power then that's just how it's justified. Responsibility is often given to those that have proven themselves responsible previously. It's something that grows over time...or diminishes.

Thank you. I'm glad to know we have mutual interests.
I did ask this question like "what is the meaning of life". I was somewhat unclear on what significance is. I'm working on it, and I'm sure I'm on the right track. So far I've come to this conclusion.
Significance is what value something has in the world currently. Value is an amount of something. An economy is built on values, an economy is ongoing transactions of values. Value is unique to each individual.
I was looking for an answer as to how this value can mean something to us ie. be significant. I think response-ability is a measure of how much we can value things. A choice is choosing to resonate with something in the world. What we resonate with, we can value, that is then significant to us. We are all unique, we all have different choices and response-abilities. Things have different significance to each of us. From a cosmic persperctive, No such things as mistakes. We cannot control the laws of the world, or the state of it, with the power we have. We can value and choose, given our life, we can work with the world.
I think there is a connection between ethical work, wealth, and individual values, they all complement the other.
When we work towards fullfilling ourselves by optainning our values, we can own wealth, but we cannot fullfill our values unless we are ourselves, which is naturally ethical. Hence why most folks practice unhealthy behavior, of their own will. I think understanding significance is undestanding value is understanding our true nature.
