President Cheney has been scarce for a few days, leading various pundits to wonder what he's up to. This morning, everyone was denying that he was in Baghdad.

Last week, when Dubya was firing Rumsfeld, Cheney was sitting back and grumbling so loudly that Dubya told him to shut up (I don't know if it was in the form of STFU!, but it's fun to imagine it was like that.):P

Would it be tacky of me to suggest that he may be in a very secure coronary care unit somewhere? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hey, the less we hear of this bozo, the better off we all are. Buck, are you sure you are a Republican? Inquiring minds want to know...

Am I a republican? Well, I cast my first vote, back in 19-ought-56, for Eisenhower. And "republican" was the default answer for political affiliation when I registered here. Does being a republican mean I have to like this administration? You tell me.

Absolutely not. But just because you followed the elephant trail back in 56 doesn't mean you have to keep hanging onto the tail in front of you today. You seem to relish bashing the folks in red almost as much as I do so I was just wondering if you really were GOP material or just took the label to 'stir up shit' as it were. I got no problems with you speaking out and all but it was challenging my notions of what a Republican was in that you consistently were forgetting Reagan's Eleventh Commandment...

Well, now we do know what he did for voting day.

Cheney go to Baghdad?!? Even the Green Zone is no longer safe. But fear not.....our fearless vice leader will be going to visit his best buds in The House of Saud and do what he does best. Diplomacy. Cheney to meet with King Abdullah in Saudi Arabia
Wed Nov 22, 2006 4:54pm ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney will travel to Saudi
Arabia on Friday for a meeting with King Abdullah to discuss issues of
"mutual interest" in the Middle East, Cheney's office said.

Their talks come as the White House weighs a shift in strategy on Iraq amid
raging violence there and after huge losses for President George W. Bush's
Republican Party in U.S. elections dominated by voter frustration over his
war policy.

Bush will go to Jordan, another U.S. ally in the Middle East, next week for
a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on how to speed up the
transfer of security responsibilities from U.S. forces to the Baghdad
government.

Cheney's talks in Saudi Arabia also are likely to encompass Washington's
anxiety about stability and democracy in Lebanon after the assassination
this week of cabinet minister Pierre Gemayel, an outspoken critic of Syria.

The killing plunged the Western-backed government of Lebanese Prime Minister
Fouad Siniora deeper into crisis and spurred fears of factional violence.
