What do you think will happen in the coming years for the democratic party? They already lost control over the house, but maybe that will turn around in the upcoming years? What are your thoughts?

You would think that with the current Republican scandals that the dems could easily capture the house and senate this year. Issues such as corruption, bribery, CIA leaks, Katrina mismanagement, illegal wiretappings, record deficit and spending, jobs going overseas, immigration, etc etc etc.
But wait! Is that what I think it is ..... Bill Frist introducing a constitutional ammendment this year to ban gay marriage?! Why, I think it is! Now THIS is an issue America cares about!

E-Z-B...not everything you mention is a problem such as jobs. We have the lowest unemployment the same as the height of the clinton years. Illegal wiretapping? Uh..nope! katrina Mismanagement? How much of that was the DEMOCRATIC governor and mayor! Seems to be a lot imho. Record deficit..yeah so what. Immigration..I don't hear any good solutions from the dems. Bribery? Not sure if anyone has been convicted yet. CIA leaks? Again..who cares. You wan to talk about leaks...who actually leaked the story about the wire-taps. Now that's treason!

Jobs are increasing, but are not of the same quality as before. Americans are taking lower paying jobs, work longer and get fewer benefits than before.
The illegal wiretapping is in violation of the 4th ammendment of the U.S. Constitution that states "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated; and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched and the persons or things to be seized."
The democratic governor and mayor played a part in the mismanagement, but as a headline in a major newspaper stated, we were "Waiting for a Leader". Bush was preoccupied with John McCain's birthday party and strumming along with a guitar.
The record deficit goes against the very grain of true conservatives. This issue is dividing the party between the conservatives and the neocons.
Bribery - Duke Cunningham was convicted.
The CIA leaks exposed an undercover agent, exposing everyone involved with her while under cover. And anyone who leaks a story about the president usurping the U.S. Constitution is a hero. Would it be any different than the president closing down all media, banning all firearms, and declaring that he will run for a 3rd term?

i think republicans are bound to tighten up their control of congress...immigrants are bound to find it hard to stay in USA..future doesn't look particularly promising
