After a lot of abortions across the globe were the result of the baby being the "wrong" sex for the parents. The question has been raised as to whether parents should be able to choose the sex of the baby?
This "Gender Choosing" can be done through use of "test tube embryos", where the eggs of the mother are fertalised and then examined to find the sex, the "right" sex is then chosen and is then inserted into the womb.
I think that this should be only for those parents who want children, but carry a genetic disease that for example would only cause suffering for females of the family. So the parents could have a boy.
What do you think?
After this has been discussed for a while, I am going to post a poll, so you can give your final opinions. ok?

No, its just not natural, but in the case off genetic disorder or agree those extreme measruments should be used, like a family disorder that only appears in females of the family, then i agree that they should use that method to get a boy, but if they are doing it simply to have a boy as there first child no way!

I agree to an extent, I understande that it is natural, but some parents might just prefer to have another sex.
I wouldn't judge the few that would do it, but if loads of people did it the world would be in chaos.

Does anyone else have any opinions on this? If so please post them for discussion before the poll goes up. :)

Yah, I'm going with Navy on this one. We should be able to help others with our medical powers, but this is going over the line. If you can choose the sex of your child, why not just plan out the rest of your life day by day starting now? Without these unplanned things, life is boring.
If people were allowed to choose the sex of their child, it could create a greater inbalance of sexes.
I think that people should be allowed to chose a different embryo to make sure their child isn't born with any abnormality or disease.

I agree with that.
And also some parents who have lets say 7 girls,and really want at least one boy,I think they should be allowed to get this option.
On the other hand I don't think that just everyone should be allowed to do that,cause then I think there will be much less girls in the world as many people prefer to have boys. :P

i think it should only for genetic disorders not for the people who have 7 girls and want 1 boy. They needs to go by what a god gave them and just be happy. Its like Bill Gates saying i have 48 billion Dollars but i want 96 Billion.
ONLY FOR GENETICS DISORDER ! Why interrupt the way of nature works

I don't see a problem with choosing a sex for you child. It's not actually doing anything except seperating certain sperm. It's the sperm that decides the sex of a child not the egg. I have 4 kids and luckily I have 2 sons and 2 daughters. I know if I had 3-4 sons I would pay to have a daughter. I feel bad for parents that all their kids are 1 sex.

I agree to an extent
For all who don't know, the ovum carries the X gene its all up to the sperm.
XX = Girl
XY = Boy
XYY = "Super Male" (Usually has disabilties)
I think it should be cheap for you if you know your kid will be a Super Mae or Super Female, or any other disabilty, but if you want to just have a boy for the heck of it then the price to do that should be jacked up

I think they should get to choose they're the gender of their child.
But if they do that then they will have uneven amount of genders
like most daddys prefer a boy, but the mommy are not always sure.
And it would be a really big problem if you let the poeple of china choose thier gender of they're child.There are so many people they're.

This is good if you have money to spend. If your budget is tight, would you still got through it? I doubt it.

Simple answer NO. First of all it will disturb the world population in terms of males and females and secondly its just not natural. Also, this way people are going against religion as they aer not accepting the gift of GOD. Instead modifying it.

It would definetly make life simplar for some, but the element of surprize
is the best when your pregnant...how many mothers have you asked...what are you having - they say, they don't care as long as it's healthy!
