Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has pleaded guilty, ending a nearly eight month drama that has transfixed the region, paralyzed much of city business and halted a political career that once held such promise.
The deal calls for Kilpatrick to plead guilty to two felony counts of obstruction of justice by committing perjury, agreeing to serve four months in jail, pay up to $1 million in restitution, and serve five years' probation. He also agreed not to run for office during that five-year span.

This punishment is WAY TO LENIENT!
This guy should be doing hard time for over a year....at least.
Why does anyone bother with blue collar crime anymore, its obvious white collar crime pays much better, and the odds of getting a harsh sentence don't really exist when you are tried by white collar criminals.....

Os, this guy is connected so they had to punish him with jail time, just a little bit though.
Look what happended to Buddy Cianci in Providence RI. He got 5 years and was fined a $100,000 dollars and had to do 150 hrs community service. He was found guilty on one count of racketeering:
http://articles.latimes.com/2002/sep/07/nation/na-buddy7
Cianci was convicted in June on a single count of racketeering conspiracy after jurors agreed that he was the ringleader of a massive corruption scheme.
************************************************** ******************
Cianci did his time at the former Ft Dix NJ Federal prison and is now free, back in Providence with his old radio show back on the air. The people of R I love him even though he is a convicted racketeer. It just goes to show the depths that this Republic has sunk today.

She was rumored to have danced at a party at the mayor's Manoogian Mansion in the fall of 2002. It has never been proved that such a party happened, and state Attorney General Mike Cox concluded the story was an urban legend.
But a memo to then-Police Chief Jerry Oliver from then-Deputy Chief Gary Brown described an allegation "that Mrs. Carlita Kilpatrick," the mayor's wife, "was involved in a physical altercation with a female dancer, causing bodily injury requiring medical attention."

10. All thread titles must be accurate to the post.
F. (August 28, 2007) Staff may edit forum posts for accuracy in names for
both members or political figures. This is according to rule #11 and #12.
While some may consider altering a public figures name to be fun we consider
it uncivil and inflammatory. This goes against our mission of civil debate.
Also we have considered the implication of search engines and the value we
are losing by not using the proper name.

Democrats treat politics as religion. Just like the devoutly religious, they accept many things as axiom which simply aren't true. They believe in "saviors" and completely suspend disbelief in that pursuit. Contradictions in their candidates words and actions are ignored just as contradictions in their religious texts are. Their worlds are set in stone and anything which doesn't fit simply never gets a chance. It's never for a single second given an objective chance.
It's just ironic because you have so many Democrats who claim to be atheists and laugh at religion and they don't even realize they are no different.

I heard Obama say the Mayor was a "great leader" and that Obama looked forward to a "lengthy collaboration" with him.
Collaboration, as defined in the Heritage Dictionary: to work together, especially in a joint intellectual effort,.. to cooperate treasonably, as with an enemy occupying one's country.
Now, this begs the question, if one doesn't support another, then why would they collaborate? Oh yes, to "cooperate treasonably"....Interesting choice of words there Obama. Which is the meaning he was most comfortable with in his speech here? Either one, casts doubt upon his judgement and character.
Obama might not have used the word "endorse" but he used just as strong a word when he said "collaborate". Perhaps the title of the thread should have read:
"Obama pledges to collaborate with the Mayor."
Then it could be deduced that Obama, once again, collaborated with now convicted criminals.

Peyronie's Disease
Awareness of Peyronie's disease increased when US President Bill Clinton's erect penis was described as having an angled bend visible during a sexual misconduct case - this is typical of the disease, which affects as many as 1 in 100 men.
Peyronie's disease is a disorder that affects the penis and can cause a lump within the shaft of the penis, pain and an abnormal angle of the erect penis causing it to appear bent.
While all of these features may not be present, in typical cases the man will notice a tender lump in the penis, which might later be followed by bending of the penis when erect, sometimes at very odd angles.
The flaccid penis remains normal, it is only bent when erect.

Uh, no. He's the most honest, forthright, and honorable major party candidate in decades, which is why Republicans have lost what passes for their minds. They are now in the rocking-back-and-forth-hugging-their-knees-and-talking-to-themselves phase, which is basically all your comment represents. You call a world-renowned genius a fool; an inspiring leader a tabloid celebrity; a man who fought for everything he has and wants to share with others an elitist; and so on, and so on. He is everything Republicans are not, and embodies the best in America.
