So, beauty queen, wannabe VP, tell me, are you going to vote for your buddy Stevens before or after you check his ethics?

YAWN...... more of the same from the Republicans. Same old scams, same old lies, same old tired beauty queen mentality.

Palin Was a Director of Embattled Sen. Stevens's 527 Group

By Matthew Mosk
ST. PAUL -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin began building clout in her state's political circles in part by serving as a director of an independent political group organized by the now embattled Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens.

Palin's name is listed on 2003 incorporation papers of the "Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, Inc.," a 527 group that could raise unlimited funds from corporate donors. The group was designed to serve as a political boot camp for Republican women in the state. She served as one of three directors until June 2005, when her name was replaced on state filings.

Palin's relationship with Alaska's senior senator may be one of the more complicated aspects of her new position as Sen. John McCain's running mate; Stevens was indicted in July 2008 on seven counts of corruption.

Palin, an anti-corruption crusader in Alaska, had called on Stevens to be open about the issues behind the investigation. But she also held a joint news conference with him in July, before he was indicted, to make clear she had not abandoned him politically.
Stevens had been helpful to Palin during her run for governor, swooping in with a last moment endorsement. And the two filmed a campaign commercial together to highlight Stevens's endorsement of Palin during the 2006 race.
Shortly after Palin was announced as McCain's vice presidential pick, the ad was removed from her gubernatorial campaign web site. It remains available on YouTube.

A federal grand jury in Washington, D.C., has accused Stevens of concealing on financial disclosure statements lucrative gifts from the now-defunct oil company Veco and its top executives. At one point, Veco employees and contractors jacked up the senator's mountainside house on stilts and added a new first floor, with two bedrooms and a bathroom, the indictment says.

Stevens became the first sitting U.S. senator to face criminal charges in 15 years. He has adamantly denied the allegations.

At the time Stevens revealed the existence of the 527 group -- a type of independent political corporation named for its the section of the tax code -- ethics experts questioned whether it was appropriate.

The Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call reported that several experts called the group an example of the fine legal line between a legal effort to conduct political activity and then-new prohibitions against raising unlimited soft-money.

Board members of Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service were legally allowed to raise as much money as they wanted from corporations or unions or unlimited donations from individuals -- all of which would have been illegal for Stevens to do himself.

At the time of the 2004 Roll Call report, Stevens's involvement was limited to some conversations with the group's board.

"He has just agreed that we can use his name," Gloria Shriver, the founder of the group and wife of Alaska Republican Party Chairman Randy Ruedrich, told the newspaper. "He did say that we could use [his name] and wished us the very best."

During her interview, Shriver left open the option that Stevens might help with some fundraising, the newspaper reported.

There is no record in IRS filings as to how much the group eventually raised.
A Palin spokeswoman did not provide a response to questions about the 527 this morning.

That could have been the circumstances, then again, it might not have been. I can't read Palin's mind, as the Liberals probably can.

The FACT is, she turned the money down.

I am finding it funny when researching some of these stories that keep coming out against Palin that I keep finding them to be false.

AS if there aren't any fundrasing scandals in the Democratic Party.....Tony Rezco comes to mind. You people must be joking to raise this as a partisan issue.

Obama Fundraiser Tony Rezco Convicted of Corruption

At what point does Barack Obama’s associations become an issue with the American voter and his canned excuses become old and tired? Ignorance is not an excuse.

One day after Barack Obama became the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee, his former fundraiser and political supporter Tony Rezco was convicted of multiple federal corruption charges.

One really must now call into account Obama’s judgment and his associations with people. First we had a 20 year relationship with Reverend Wright and Trinity Church, now comes an association with a convicted felon. Obama is becoming a broken record when it comes to his lame apologies for his less than stellar judgment with regard to who he has previously associated with. Why is Obama’s excuse always … “that is not the person I knew?” Maybe its because Obama has no sense when it comes to people or he does not care.

Obama: “I’m saddened by today’s verdict. This isn’t the Tony Rezko I knew, but now he has been convicted by a jury on multiple charges that once again shine a spotlight on the need for reform. I encourage the General Assembly to take whatever steps are necessary to prevent these kinds of abuses in the future.”

Obama Fundraiser Convicted on 16 Money Laundering Charges

Tony Rezco, who just happens to have been one of Barack Obama’s major fundraisers, has been convicted on 16 money laundering charges.

Tony Rezco is more than just a campaign fund raiser for Obama, he also provided Barack Obama with a sweet little land deal.

Obama bought a house and lot. Rezko’s wife bought an undeveloped property next door. The two parcels had once been a single tract of land.

Obama paid $1.65 million for the house and lot while Rezko paid $625,000 for the undeveloped lot. Six months later, Rezko sold a strip of his property to Obama, who wanted to increase the size of his side yard. Obama paid Rezko $104,500, which he says was the market rate.

While Obama has said that the transaction was handled ethically, he has conceded the perception of favor-trading it created was a “boneheaded” mistake.

A boneheaded mistake? They say that you can judge a man’s character by the company he keeps, and Obama keeps some very slimy company. This is just one example. Yet the media remains silent. People are all too willing to let this slide. Hillary Clinton was, GULP, right about one thing….Barack Obama IS getting a free ride from the press. Not even one questions about his former friend and fundraiser.

This conviction is more than just about Rezco, it highlights the corruption in the Democrat party in Illinois, and just in case you missed it, that would be Barack Obama’s state.

Birkett added, “The conviction of Tony Rezko represents a deep stain on the Democratic Party in Illinois. Democrats from top to bottom, including Barack Obama, stood idly by — and in some instances directly benefited — while the massive Blagojevich corruption scheme flourished. They rode into office promising to clean up after the George Ryan scandals and they have taken corruption in Illinois to a new low. They ought to be held accountable at the polls starting this November.”

ANd then there was Hillary's Norman Hzu

HSU ARE THEY?
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton previously supported campaign-finance reform proposals that would have required immediate and full transparency of donor names involved in bundling of political donations. But now Clinton has ordered that none of the 200 or so individuals who bundled some $850,000 with disgraced Clinton fundraiser Norman Hsu be disclosed to the media.

The two major parties are historically rife with corruption, so when one partisan kicks the crust off the stink of another, it will always blow back in their own faces to smell like shit. You partisan attack dogs never cease to make me laugh at you.

Bish I come here for my daily side splitting entertainment. The partisan moronic robots never fail to entertain me. They are funnier than all my favorite stand up comics combined until yet, sometimes I feel like I have a severe case of bi-polarism when I am reminded these people actually vote.
