Pretty funny, McCain is not supposed to be able to talk about his having been a POW and how it prepared him for this job, but another is brought up to try and use against him.
What hypocrisy.

Why do you hate the troops?

That is so typical its funny MOT. I keep hearing about how McCain shouldn't be able to talk about how his experiences as a POW have made him the right man for the job and here, yet again, we have someone posting another POW whose experience SHOULD be relevant? I am pointing out the BLATANT and ABJET hypocrisy of that stance.
I personally feel that if McCain or this gentleman want to make comments and points based in their experiences, more power to them.
If all you can come up with in return is "why do you hate the troops" it certainly does show that you see the hypocrisy I am pointing to and have no other argument.
Are you one of those claiming McCain should not be able to speak about his tribulations as part of his campaign?

I was being ironic when I asked that question, Boogyman. You must have missed it.
The fact is that the Republicans have been very effective in portraying the Democrats as "hating the troops", whenever the Democrats have questioned the war or what some general thinks, or whatever.
I have no idea where you get that, "McCain is not supposed to be able to talk about his having been a POW"... However, I think it gets a little bit old and is as relevent to running this country as Palin's daughter having an illegetimate child...
But, I am glad that you agree that if McCain and the Republican party keeps touting McCain's PoW status, you think this guy should have his say...as a former PoW.

interesting how effective the swift boaters were to get the republican flock all riled up in 2004, and now those same people are against these veteran-run smear campaigns.. what hypocrisy indeed..

The "don't mention your POW time" stuff is all over the forums.

Can you post some examples?

Oh, let me take credit for that because it was Mccain's answer to everything for awhile.
I actually posted that same video somewhere in this forum before and I'm thinkin' some of the righteous said those veterans have no right to talk about McCain. Ya know, kinda like the Iraq Veterans Against War have no right to talk about their experiences and their positions about bush's war.
Mouth, you know how the righteous Repubs like to claim ownership of patriotism, the troops 'n America. ;)
Thannks for posting Leslie; when a fellow POW feels McCains experiences are a definite negative in terms of his psychological ability to run the nation, I beleive him more than anyone who has NOT been a POW.
I get the feeling there a great many vets, not just from NAM who are extremely unhappy with McCain.

The Swift Boat Liars are trying to lie low this time because they realize that if they tried the same tactics this year it will sink their guy McCain and the multiple issues that exist with McCain's military history. They sure do not want to attract attention to them.

sheep have short-lived memories to match their short attention spans. ;)
being that both campaigns amount to nothing but mud slinging, i wouldn't be surprised to see that sort of activity. some of mccain's best friends, after all, are kennedy and fiengold.. not exactly "red state" kinds of politicians.

So true. There is no fighting like infighting and to those of us who aren't party line toeing automatons, we know a harsh, cannibalistic, and incestuous 2 months are ahead. I honestly hope they rip each other apart. Maybe with some of the polished veneer pulled back, a few more people will come to the realization that the current system is little more than an illusion to appease the mob enough for the 800lb gorilla to go about its business unnoticed.

I care about this guys opinion as much as I cared about the swift boaters opinions.
Being a POW doesn't make you any more or less qualified to be president, or give opinions on being president.
The "don't mention your POW time" stuff is all over the forums.
The don't mention you were a pow threads were about McCain using it for excuses. I lived in a cell for 5 years, dreaming of a house, ect.
NO ONe ever said he shouldn't talk about being a POW......just stop using it for an excuse.
