Personally, I think Bush is doing the right thing... Everyone may say it's because I'm a republican and I just don't want a democrat in office, but honestly... Look at what happened a little over a decade ago with desert storm.. We left early and now we're back again... The cycle will repeat if we don't finish what we have started... What does everyone else think?

We need to establish an exit plan, and quick. We're losing American lives, and we've been in there longer than Rumsfeld wanted to believe. We're almost $1trillion spent in this stupid war, and those in charge need to figure out a plan or step down NOW.

I live in Canada, so forgive me..lol
But when 9/11 happened I was devasted as was everyone else.
I knew Bush would retaliate, but at the time everyone was so angry
and hurt that his plan of action seemed vesible, but now, the mind set seems to have changed. Your still loosing young American lives.
Saddam is in custody, Bush has tried to do more and he is, there is headway there, but it does need to stop. It needs to stop soon.

Sorry bout that,
1. But sure, we need to get out, that is obvious.
2. That's where my Plan B comes in.
3. We let them fight it out.
4. See who wins.
5. Come back in and move the winners to a remote place.
6. Subjugate them there, and take over the oil.
7. If they give us trouble, bomb them.
8. So what I'm saying is we don't really leave, but temporally pull back, watch what happens, which will be ugly for sure, then pounce on the winners after the local holocaust in Iraq, ethic cleansing, secretarian violence, whatever you want to call it.

Yes, we have to stay in Iraq. For many reasons. If the terrorists defeat us in Iraq (have no doubt, withdrawal is defeat and the terrorists will recognize it as such) they will be empowered and emboldend. It would be a huge political and propaganda victory.
Second, we should not make the same mistake we made in Vietnam. The withdrawal from Vietnam left the American people and military demoralized, ripe for the malaise days of Jimmy Carter (and the first mass terror attack from radical Islam, the capture of the US embassy in Tehran).
Third, and perhaps most importantly, we would lose credibility. A short history lesson. In Vietnam, we told the South Vietnamese people we would support them. Nixon, with the "Christmas bombings" forced the NV to sign the ceasefire which won the Vietnam War. (Yes, we won the Vietnam war). Then, when Kerry & co. drove Nixon from office and voted to end funding and support for South Vietnam, the North reinitiated the conflict and took the South. Hundreds of thousands of our allies in the South, who we promised to support, were arrested, tortured and murdered.
If we leave Iraq now, we will repeat that mistake. All the people who stepped forward to serve in the govt and military will be targets of the terrorists. We will be leaving our allies to be butchered.
The losses in Iraq, while regrettable, have been limited. 2000 or so in 4 years. We lost more in one day in NYC. We lost more in 1 hour at Iwo Jima.

Our media, dancing to the tune played bythe terrorist media masters has just about convinced people that the war is a quagmire, too costly in money and lives and that if we just pulled out it would all go away.
Well, that's not true.
We don't have to go all the way back to Vietnam or the First Gulf War; just look at how our immediate retreat from Somalia turned out. We lost less than 20 soldiers; a sad loss, but hardly unexpected when applying military force. Now Al Qaida has wrested control of that country from the other warlords and will probably consolidate that hold and turn the country into a giant terrorist wonderland. How many GI's will we lose taking it back? Do you think that we should use the same strategy in Iraq?
We promised them three elections
We promised them to get rid of Sadaam
We promised them an elected government
We threw in Zarchari for free
We've trained their soldiers
Complete withdrawl is impossible..........but it is time for them to stand up. .....wasn't all this "the plan"?

I remember him saying in his address to the nation hours after WTC:
"I am a loving man, but I have a job to do."
Republican or democrat did not matter, he was the president, commander in chief.Â*Â*It did not matter to me about what news came out about him yesterday, or the month before.Â*Â*I am one hell of a tough guy, but watching him shake his head to fight back tears had me feeling and acting the same.Â*Â*That was a day everyone was an american.
I have gotten past republican or democrat, its about who will do his/her best to make the country better, and the world safer.Â*Â*I still personally like George Bush, I do not consider him a great president.Â*Â*The main reason is that he did not fire the nixon cronys, and do things the way he thought they should be done.
The next election I will be voting for the person, not the party.Â*Â*I suggest you all do the same.
