one that climbs trees pretty fast, how weird was THAT......

growing up on the farm I have seen fights between half feral cats and rabbits on several occassions....it is not a given that the cat will win.....have any of you ever seen a full grown western jack rabbit stand up on it's hind legs?.....they can be over three foot tall.....

Perhaps this is one of the rabbits from that genus of fighting rabbits like they had in Monty Pythons Quest for the Holy Grail.

Nice to see the rabbits win once in a while. I'd guess that was a momma rabbit that had young ones nearby. Most animals will go to extremes to protect their young. This isn't to make less of the rabbit's courage, just trying to understand it.
