My brother kinda got laid off from his job he got through internship through college, and now its serious. He is working minimum wage, but he has a college degree and that's not right. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, as I am getting a hold of some contacts my self and helping out with research. I know it seems like a pretty lame thing to ask but I am pretty concerned because he has student loans to pay off.

hit up monster.com and apply to every position that seems within his skillset. and definitely look for consulting gigs over permanent employment.

as someone who manages 5 developers, those who aren't consultants tend to have lighter resumes - and consequentially, fewer skills. consulting gigs are usually easier to get, and will provide some invaluable skills that wouldn't normally be attained in permanent employment.
