The most powerful woman in the history of American politics is suffering a humiliating defeat at the nation's bookstores, sales figures show.

In her first week at market, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi sold just 2,737 copies of her book KNOW YOUR POWER, according to NIELSEN BOOKSCAN.

The DOUBLEDAY release was launched with a full media push, featuring high profile interviews on TODAYTHEVIEWTHISWEEK.

"I wrote the book in response to people asking me what it was like to go from housewife to House Speaker and for advice as to how young people, especially women, could balance family and career," Pelosi told the WASHINGTON POST.

Pelosi's sales debacle [#41 on the Non-Fiction Chart] is dramatically overshadowed by the first high profile anti-Obama book, OBAMA NATION, which debuts at #1 on both the BOOKSCAN and the NEW YORK TIMES Bestseller List, with 21,466 copies moved, industry insiders tell DRUDGE.

"The speaker was pre-occupied with house business last week," a source close to Pelosi explained Thursday morning. "She has now turned her focus to promoting this extraordinary book... doing local signings and speeches. I think we'll see an uptick."

Embarassing for her, to say the least. She won't even make the cost of publication and is now the laughing stock in the publishing world. "Where is "the pow-ah" now there MS Pelsoi? What's the matter, everyone, even in SF, too cheap or too broke to buy your book? Oh it must be the recession that's to blame. LOL give me a break.

Go back to the House, turn on the lights, the sound, and the mics, and get back to work developing an energy plan that will save this nation from national disaster should there be a severe kink in the oil hose connecting the US to foreign oil.

Of course they were. Publishers will crawl all over a book by a Liberal author. I think Three Rivers Press is the only house in the country that will buy a book by a Conservative author.

That's because Americans dislike hate. Americans don't like people that bitch/moan/whine/complain about how bad this country is.

Sheehan was a perfect example of that. She toted the libbie party line complete with vile hatred. She was just in it for the headlines and eventual book deal. She dishonered her son. He probably rolled over in his grave to see her using his death to make some money.

I don't consider her Casey's mother. No hero deserves to be connected with such a horrible woman. All she did wa give birth to him. The fact that she wants teh world to believe he was brainwashed is disgusting. He was a brave man who wanted to re-enlist because he loved his country. The fact that she cant see that proves that she has no idea what kind of man he was.

In some ways, I feel a little sorry for Cindy S. She became so consumed with anger, that she isolated herself from her family, became broke, and was used then cast aside by the media.
