McCain's Dishonest Troop Strategy

I made the comment on these boards a while back about what I suspected the McCain camp was capable of doing concerning an Obama visit to the troops. What you are ignoring is the simple fact is the Rove inspired McCain camp would have criticized Obama no matter what he did.

If he would have went to see the troops, they would have claimed Obama used the troops for campaign purposes.

If he did not go see the troops, they claim he hates the troops and doesn't respect them.

What the McCain campaign doesn’t want people to know, according to one GOP strategist I spoke with over the weekend, is that they had an ad script ready to go if Obama had visited the wounded troops saying that Obama was...wait for it...using wounded troops as campaign props. So, no matter which way Obama turned, McCain had an Obama bashing ad ready to launch. I guess that’s political hardball. But another word for it is the one word that most politicians are loathe to use about their opponents—a lie.

Imagine that, John McCain, war hero, is now a liar as well. Who would have imagined the Straight Talk Express to have derailed so quickly and so totally?

Well of course he's a liar and con man, he agreed with and voted with Bush for the past eight years. Anyone who would be stupid enough to blame Obama for the failed Bush policies (high gas prices) can't be that smart, he's an idiot.This country needs to escape from the clutches of these pirates, even if we have to elect Charlie Manson. Anything would be better than McCain, hell I'll settle for anything from Charlie to Oj Simpson. They have a higher popularity rating than Bush and would probably consider the peoples interest more than the Bush-McCain crime family.

The point of the thread is to point out that the McCain campaign was not interested in speaking truth to power but smearing Obama no matter what he did. I predicted it and the writer from Newsweek confirmed that a GOP operative had a second ad ready to go. Piss and bitch all you want. I don't care.
