Wow, I'm so glad I've never went to a protest. "Die traitors die." I'd like to know where exactly this happened and if that really was a US Federal building. If it was, the police should have taken that flag down immediately. lol those counter protesters sound like a bunch of white trash.

If you watch the police do take it down. Also it was reported to be the local post office. This happened late August in Mayberry California. There are other videos of different times in the protest all over youtube.
It's seriously not cool what they did.

It's poor politics, but my personal reaction is I think the counter protestors are funny. I don't really care much about this one way or the other.
Though I will say that I'm more disturbed by confederate flags than a mexican flag. Especially since the confederate flag represents a nation that was actually our enemy for it entire existence.

Thats not suprising. If the situation was reversed, and a Mexican Flag was taken down and replaced with an American Flag you would be outraged.

The Confederates no longer exist as a nation and pose no threat. However Mexico..still exists and truth be told...we could one day go to war with them again. How is Mexico raising a flag here not concerning to you?

I can't help but think back to the day that the Saddam statue was pulled down and the young soldier raised an American flag over the fallen statue. Liberals went NUTS and ranted against our military and our intent for Iraq.
Where is that outrage now?

Not at all true. The confederacy was happy to coexist with the US, but the US would not allow it.

Ummm it wasn't the liberals that went nuts, it was the Iraqis. Perhaps you got your facts mixed up there. Hence why we apologized to the Iraqis.

As for the outrage, it is an illegal thing to do this yes? Then prosecute the hell out of them.
I have no outrage for this type of thing anymore than I do any other act of vandalism. If it is illegal, put them on trial for it. Nuff said.

I know of some conservatives that think we should wipe out the entire Muslim population, including men, women, and children. Does that mean they speak for every conservative Flea_Bit_Monkey?

Sorry Elrathin, but Chris Matthews was having an extremely productive spittle day when that event occurred.Â*Â*I thought they were going to give him a blanket with which to wipe the anger propelled spittle from the faces of the guests of his show who sat across from him.
It WAS the liberals that went nuts.

It WAS the liberals that went nuts.
Again, you are showing a COUPLE of liberals. Not as a whole. So by your logic, conservatives want all Muslims killed, since a couple of conservatives said it.
On the otherhand there were THOUSANDS of Iraqis that did not like what happened.
No offense boogyman and flea bit monkey.........but you should really get to know the difference between editorials/commentators and fact.

Nice try, but you showed one Muslim commentator who went "nuts", there were two liberals shown to have gone "nuts", and I am perfectly willing to go with the fact we have so far, twice as many liberals as muslims who went nuts
Also, your condesending "difference between editorials/commentators and fact" comes into play how, when the one muslim mentioned was ALSO a commentator?
Also, no-one said ALL liberals went nuts, only that liberals went nuts, so I really don't get why some liberals here are going nuts thinking someone said ALL liberals, Can someone explain that one?
....mmmmm.........ok.......I show you an news article that was written on that day and somehow you come to the conclusion that it's a "Muslim commentator"?
I'll give you one clue.....my article states that chains were used....your article states that chains were used, more than likely supplied by the US Army.
Oh and just a side note......there is a huge difference between Slate and CNN.;)

Hmmm, the question running through my mind at this point is did you read your own link?
"anger from a commentator on the Arab news network Al Arabiya."
It is interesting that the commentator isn't even named, which make verification that he existed and wether he was liberal or not very difficult.

Both are well left of center, so in this context you are wrong.

Yes and no. The only reason I'd give a damn is because my expirience with conservative protestors has been filled with drunks, racists and christian extremists. So no, I wouldn't be outraged, but honestly, yes I'd think worse of the situation. Here I tend to thing of some young college kid. Though not intellectually, but a gut reaction.
The Confederates no longer exist as a nation and pose no threat. However Mexico..still exists and truth be told...we could one day go to war with them again. How is Mexico raising a flag here not concerning to you?
I see no reason to for it to be. I wouldn't have cared if someone put an american flag on a canadian government building in toronto, or a canadian flag in a federal building in boston.
Though I also don't think we're any more likely to go to war with mexico than we are to go to war against france.
But the confederacy did pose a threat, they were our enemy, and that is what they were for their entire history. Mexico is not, it's an ally.

All I remember is that liberals pointed out that it was staged.

I think we should write into the US constitution as an ammendment an "angry violent mobs of people who want a peice of each other have at it" clause.
It can make up for the outlawing of dueling.
On a more serious note, in the case of both flag instances shown I ardently dissaprove. No mexican flags hanging over federal buildings or US soldiers committing the crime of stupid.

I am gonna fix this thread....
Ok...WHY DIDN'T CHRIS MATTHEWS go nuts about this incident? He was surely upset over the Iraq situation. Is it possible that the liberal Chris Matthews is a hypocrit?
btw...Flea_Bit_Monkey is invited here from a domainer forum I participate at. I am hoping he makes an intro thread...he will be a good addition to the site.

Is it possible that the liberal Chris Matthews is a hypocrit?
Of course it's possible. It's possible Bush is a hypocrite, Rove is a hypocrite, the senate members are hypocrites. The possibility is ALWAYS there for ANYONE to be a hypocrite.
But for Chris Matthews to be a hypocrite in this matter he would have to say it's no big deal that the Mexican Flag was raised. Chris Matthews not speaking on this matter doesn't make him a hypocrite, but it does make him have a bias.
And I hope you are not saying conservatives do not have biases.

Gasps do not equal nuts, but who was it gasping in the pentagon briefing room? Was it a room full of liberal reporters? Who knows since no details are given.
Next is why were they gasping? Was it because they were worried all the liberals would go nuts? It's a possibility.
The gasps in the pentagon briefing room are simply to inspecific to be used as evidence in this discussion.

There is really no need for this kind of sarcasm, is there?
This wasn't an issue with anyone, no massive protests like some danish cartoon. But the liberal media tried to make it one, like they do with everything they can, regardless of the truth behind it.

Yeah NO Iraqis were pissed by it either. The fact is the liberal media did not make a big deal out of it and neither did liberals as a whole. Did some? Yes, of course, but not the majority.
In fact the military made more of a deal out of it than the liberals did.

Maybe this one was staged, maybe it wasn't. But raising a foreign flag over federal property should be a crime, unless of course it is part of some ceremony, and the foreign flag should be displayed lower than the American flag, as it is for states (except Texas, of course!). I see Mexican flags around here all the time and it is irritating. If all these people want to do is come here and work and get their piece of the American dream, then why do they want to be Mexicans still? That's my problem. You should WANT to be an AMERICAN. If not, I'll gladly give you a ride to the border. I am of Irish/ German descent. No one in my family speaks German. My great grandparents changed their name to sound more American. They left their old lives behind when they came to America, so they could be Americans. Why does no one want to do this anymore?

I grew up surrounded by polish flags, and the older generation spoke constant polish. And I grew up near people who had indian flags, and spoke gujarat and hindi whenever the opportunity arose. My best friend is one of the people who did that.
I don't see the difference between that and mexican. It just seems that certain nationalities get a reaction while others get a free pass.
