According to Mikhail Machavariani, vice Speaker of Georgian Parliament, local elections held in Georgia on 5 October were exemplary ones, without any fraud or deficiencies. But I assure you, this is bullshit! Absolute bullshit!! Georgian authorities made an effort to ensure a clear-cut victory for pro-Saakashvili party "The United National Movement" which also helps Saakashvili himself to grip at power.
Armenians living in Akhalkalaki region of Georgia see latest local elections here as illusion of democracy and the voting results faked! Saakashvili and his people in Tbilisi won’t hear us. So we want rest of the outer world look at what’s going on in “concentration camp of Georgia” Georgia owes this status to Saakashvili and his method of suppressing all differently thinking and speaking people.
The list of wrongdoings is very long. Half of Armenians who live here were not able to take vote because they could not find their name in the register of electors. A good part of voting bulletins was left out of account though everything was fine with them. Besides, most of us were "strongly recommended" to vote for pro-president United National Movement as they were approaching the voting precincts by agents of this pro-president party. A few days after that when we started an indignation meeting, Georgian policy delivered fire on us, as a result five people had gunshot wounds. Are those “exemplary elections”? Is it the way people vote in Europe and USA I wonder? We demand recount of votes in the presence of foreign observers!
