Last elections in Georgia were declared as honest and democratic. But in spite of it Georgian president Saakashvili has announced that his party ‘National Movement’ won these elections even before official results of it! Saakashvili said that ‘National Movement’ has got over 70% of popular votes. And it is only the beginning.
According to independent analysts’ reports, carried out exit-polls in Georgia, president’s party might get 55% only. This is the trifle, president can make a mistake. But elections date modification really has tilted oppositionists out of saddle. It’s well-known that elections planed to be held in December 2006 but suddenly local elections have brought forward (on October 5, 2006). Is it suddenly? Shortly before elections Georgian officials organized arrests and detentions of opposition leaders, charging them with espionage and crime ties accusation. It looks like planed actions organized by Georgian officials! And this is petty part of all violations during elections preparing! We could add to it the facts of presence of non-existent people in electoral roll and absence of some voters there, too.
According to European politicians’ opinion it’s necessary to investigate the processes which are flowing in Georgia now. Otherwise we could lose Georgian democratic achievements.

We have our hands full in Afghanistan and the fiasco in Iraq and can't possibly be bothered to deal with some election fraud in Georgia. Geez, we can't even deal with little North Korea or the crisis in Darfur. Georgia? Puleeez!
