Holy freakin' sh1t!! Statesville, NC is only about an hour from me! KUDOS to that manager! Maybe that idiot robber will think twice before trying that poo again.
Hopefully they'll catch him, too, even better.
I want that manager's phone number. We need another person in Loss Prevention where I work.
Geez, just imagine how good THAT will look on his resume.
YAY, Manager!
Purrs,
Pookie

I salute that mans spirit, and his quick thinking and decision making that allowed him to react appropriately when the opprotunity of a bumbling criminal presented itself.

We need more like him....and hopefully more responsible armed citizens to prevent these things from happening at the hands of the same criminal more than once.

Refusing to be the victim is the first step to taking control of a society by its members. This guy cannot recieve enough accolades for his smart willingness to fight back.

Hopefully this other piece of human crap will find his criminal career short and ignoble. If his life is shortened in the process, so much the better.

And that's why you don't ever try to rob people....

I love this story - MSNBC did a whole hour of cases like this. Where people outwitted their attackers and it was caught on their home or work video.

The second was a woman who used logic, fought him from taking her to another location, and talked him into running away.

edit: dang I can't find a video on line.

MSNBC usually reruns everything, though.

I just love criminals getting their "just desserts" in the end by regular people. Makes me feel there is hope for the human race.

I prefer these types of accounts:

http://www.nraila.org/ArmedCitizen/Default.aspx

During the decades the American Rifleman has published “The Armed Citizen” column, thousands of incidents of law-abiding Americans using firearms to halt or prevent crime have appeared in the magazine. Editorial space allowing, the total could have been far greater of course, as award-winning survey research shows that each year in the U.S. gun owners use firearms for protection as frequently as 2.5 million times.

This archive contains “Armed Citizen” entries from the present back to 1958. The database is searchable by key word and state and results are displayed in chronological order according to the month of publication in the American Rifleman.

Its a great database I often use to crush anti-gun arguments. ;)
