Here's what I don't understand - why does American government bitch about Iran's decision to build nuclear power plant, impose sanctions on Iran and scream about it at the top of their lugs.... when it's Russia that is building the nuclear power plant. Where's the logic here?

Should US threaten Russia insteead of Iran? Or America is afraid to say one bad word about Moscow?

MOSCOW, July 2 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian parliament's ratification on Wednesday of an amendment to a major international treaty on nuclear security will not affect construction of a nuclear power plant in Iransenior diplomat said.

sia is building the $1 billion Bushehr facility, Iran's first nuclear power plant, in the south of the country in accordance with a 1995 contract.

"Our project in Bushehr will meet all nuclear security standards, just like [nuclear facilities] do in Russia," Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kislyak said at a parliamentary hearing.

Russia signed the UN Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material in 1980.

The treaty obliges each signatory to take appropriate steps to ensure that nuclear material is protected whether on a country's territory, on board a ship or aircraft under its jurisdiction, or being transported internationally.

States parties to the convention gathered in July 2005 to amend the document and strengthen its provisions.

The amended Convention makes it legally binding for states to protect nuclear facilities and material in civilian use, storage and transport.

It also provides for expanded cooperation between countries regarding rapid measures to locate and recover stolen or smuggled nuclear material, to mitigate any radiological consequences of sabotage, and to prevent and combat related offences.

The lower house of the Russian parliament ratified the amended document, which will take effect once it has been ratified by two-thirds of the signatories.

Russia earlier said start up tests involving nuclear fuel at Bushehr would begin this fall.

Russia delivered its eighth and final nuclear fuel shipment to Bushehr on January 28, supplying a total of 82 metric tons of low-enriched uranium to the light-water reactor.

Kislyak said Russia would not transfer to Tehran the technologies used to build and operate the plant, and the spent fuel from the Bushehr reactor will be brought back to Russia.

We almost started WWIII when you guys were moving into Cuba. I have to say Russia backed out from that game of chicken. Russia just has small man syndrome (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=small+man+syndrome), they are 40 years out of date in military comparison to the us.

Just because your country has its finger in one country doesn't mean a damn thing. The U.S have their fingers in all the pies, and all the pies were made by us. So were the tables they lay on.

Its fun to read your foreign propaganda and horrible english like comments. But have you realized you can't make comments without retort in the smallest by everyone else on this board? Where do you get off thinking you can freely make a comment and expect no rebuttal?

Since America is run by its people, and I am a registered voter... Here (http://eldib.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/nuke.jpg) is what I think about Moscow. I know they feel the same, so its a taste of their own trash. So what do you suppose we do? Since Russia is helping a 'terrorist' nation, should we take you guys out in the process?

And yeah they are teenage like comments because I am a teenager. Anyone could have figured that out by looking in my profile.

Let me ask you something. In a war, who do you think would win? Russia or the U.S?

Если Вы не можете говорить на русском языке, почему продвинуть их политикаs?

I'm sorry, why would we be afraid of Russia? You've hinted at this in several threads, December, and every time I ask you to elaborate you hide behind your favorite catchphrase, you know, the "Jerry Springer-type people" one. So WHY would the United States of America be afraid to say anything about the Russians?

I am not insulting you december, I like to post with you. I know I was rather brash, indicating that you had poor english, but I had found in most of your posts that your english wasn't the best. I didn't know a simple fact would offend you so. I concluded that you were russian, thats why I made a small response to you in russian.

I would also like to know why the U.S Would be afraid to say anything about russians. Care to explain comrade?
