You do realize that being gay doesn't mean that he doesn't subscribe to many conservative view points. Being gay doesn't exclude someone from being a Conservative or Republican by that alone.

Bottom line: The majority of people in the U.S. are not PURE REPUBLICAN or PURE DEMOCRAT. And if a person believes in the majority of republican values/issues, they are Republican.
