Social groups are areas where forum members can discuss things, away from the main board, with like minded members. For this reason staff is reluctant to interfere in this area. At the same time there is also a need to have some moderation of the section to prevent members from disrupting the group.

The decision we came to is that unwanted members must be removed by the groups creator. Rejoining a group you've been removed from is prohibited and will receive an infraction.

Problematic posts will only be removed by staff when requested by the groups creator. Staff will not be making decisions on which posts remain and which are removed.

The only time staff will intervene is if a social group is being used to disrupt the forum or harass certain members on the main forum.

Mercy. The little group I started, "Animal House" doesn't have any problems. There are long-time DF members there in the group who are there to chat and have fun. No one there needs rules. We're just chatting.
I allow links to pet rescue places, and anything to do with pets, kids, grandkids, the home, what is near and dear to us. I love the pics, and we are enjoying everything there.
There are no problems and to be honest, and I don't mean to sound rude, but we don't need staff intervention for anything. I don't mean that rudely, I mean we have no troubles here.
I hope other groups are having fun as we are. I hope they are trouble-free.

Pookie

Well, except that one thing about video-taping members knocking a few back. I said, hell no because I can just see me splashed all over YouTube and linked here, and well, crap, there goes my reputation LMAO!!
Sorry, we were having fun over there.
Just a joke, folks, LOL!

You did read the part where we said moderation is essentially up to the group creator, right?

But we had some reported posts from social groups, which caused us to discuss how to handle it.

I understand that. I'm just letting you know not to worry about us. Maybe you have problems with other groups or something, but we're ok, and I appreciate the notice.
Relax, dear. Kiss the ratbabies for me.

Oh and YES, I love Zo's rats. The secret is out now. I don't see rats as cat food any more, and I know this is off-topic, but Zo made me a believer about how smart and sweet rats are.
LOL!!
Back to the topic, though, I thought these groups were to be fun and trouble-free. I started mine as you know, Zo, with fun and camaraderie in mind. I didn't know there were any problems there.
Glad to know that if we have problems, we can get help, but I'm positive it won't happen with Animal House.
