And I end up clicking other tabs waiting for a page to load.

It ain't on my end...

One of the key characteristics of sites I enjoy visiting? Speed.

They had server issues last night, I can only assume they had them again.

I wish I would get some warning, though I'm not sure how much it would help seeing as I can only imagine it being truly helpful if it's days in advance.

Took forever for this page to load last night and earlier today too.

I wind up playing computer chess or some other game while I'm waiting, if I really want to post. Otherwise, I leave and go to another site and read for a while. It does get frustrating after a while.

Lots of reasons for lag.....depending on where you are and where the server is.

Where is this server, does anyone know?

It's become routine that every night (early morning, actually) around 2:00-ish Central, the site slows down considerably (I'm frequently on at this hour of the morning). I've always assumed a nightly backup or other maintenance is being performed.

While I will agree with you Zo, that you can't get advanced warning when the forum is going to go down, or be slow........is there anyway if Susie is here working on it, or if she knows that there is problems on her end, that she could put something up, so we know that things are being fixed or looked into?

People do go other places when they can't get in here........I just want to make sure they don't stay there! If they had an approxamte time, or even an acknowledgement that something is being done would go a long way, make the forum look better and be a feature that no other forum offers.

If I can't get in, I sit down, light a black candle and curse Bill Gates to the ninth depth of hell.
By the time I'm done doing that, the site is running fine and boy do I feel a LOT better.

Well, I end up smoking more of my cigarette than ususal. When I'm posting, it usually just burns up in the ashtray, because I forget about it.....when I'm waiting, I smoke it. I'm wondering if I can get me one of those lawsuits going, like the hot coffee one? DF contributed to my smoking habit......any lawyers here? Prophet? Professor......I think your a law student?

LOL Lily!
Good thing I don't allow smoking in the house, eh? But I do go to the garage or the deck more often for a smoke.
That's why I curse the crap out of Bill Gates. Maybe we can sue him!
