Some of our out-of-control conservative bloggers have hurried to declare on dozens of Internet sites that Dunkin’ Donuts Company was “promoting terrorism” only because the scarf of well-known Rachael Ray reminded them a keffiyeh, worn by Arab men as “a symbol of Palestinian terrorism and the intifada”. Stuff and nonsense! In reality it reminds me anti-Islamic hysteria, which is artificially whipped up in this country now.
Do we call a terrorist any person at our streets? No, of course! So why should we agree with those who consider that any scarf, similar to a keffiyeh, at the shoulders of our women, must be a symbol of terrorism? What a bull-shit!
We should strongly condemn the ignorance and intolerance of these commentators and stop their foolish boycott of the fast-food company. We are a strong nation, whose brave soldiers are fighting now against real terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan and so we have no right to respond to this artificial hysteria at all!
