Mommy needs to understand and explain to her children that underwear isn't naked and also mommy should realize like the young girl working said.. it's no different then going to a beach.
she wants a new law made when the current status of these places "aren't" breaking the law?.. pffffft
I'd certainly have no problems ordering food or beverage from one of those places.

Haw!
I am not sure how many communities would let waitresses serve the general public in pasties!
It seems like it should be more in bars than in a fast food joint.
And community standards are always gonna rule in a democratically-oriented place like America.
If the locals don't like it, it'll have to go.
In the meantime...I'm kinda hongry!

The community doesn't have to visit that place, though.

Of course the mother's a prude and this is all very silly (as well as legal); but it certainly wouldn't hurt for these businesses to post a sign somewhere so that the more modest and prudish folks can make an informed choice.

"They can take my latte, after they pry it from my cold, dead fingers"
"So, how are the tips!"
"Mom, why do my muffins have tassles on them?"
"Hmm, the milk they put in here, tastes a little different to me..."
"They only take $1's...?"
"That's a new twist on "Coffee and a Date"
"Mom, why is that woman wearing propellars on her boobs? Is she in the Air Force?"
"Thank you, sir. That will $5.97. Please drive around to the brass pole to pay"
"Mr. Clinton, welcome back!"

Or to put it another way ..."I was too dumb to realize what I was taking my kids to...so lets make a law!"
If its something kids see in every other ad on TV, where is the problem?
You can't child proof the world nor can you keep your children from noticing it. Sooner or later you just have to explain things to them honestly.

Would love to take mom out to Europe where most beaches are topless!

In either case why is a parent taking their kids to a restaurant where the servers are dressed like they're at the beach?

Would you go to hooters and complain about the abundance of hooters?
Honestly, the name starts with "Hot Chick", what more do you want?

The overwhelming majority of businesses are made up of people who are fully clothed; the businesses that aren't are well-known (strip clubs, beach shops, etc.).
It's more logical to expect a non-sex-oriented business to be staffed by people who are fully clothed. What would your reaction be if you went into the bank and found all the men wearing Speedos?
I'm not sure what (if any) law this woman's trying to pass...I don't believe she's trying to get the businesses banned or a law passed that forces them to wear clothes - it seems to me she just wants some measure of notice and information as to the manner of dress so that folks can make an informed choice.

I can honestly say.. I have been on beaches and seen eatery shacks like that, many times.. and.. inside.. girls wearing bikinis..
I know this isn't the beach.. but really.. if the beach food shops, had there workers wearing suit and ties.. would people be offended by that attire at a beach?..lol
I wouldn't..
and if the food or drink was good... I'd still go back.
granted the bikini girls may get more service even if the food was terrible..haha

If I went to "Hot Chick-A-Bank" I'd be very disappointed if I saw 200 pound women in business suits.

I would say that if I saw a business that said "Hot Chicks Bank", I would proably not be expecting a normal bank inside. Its something I might check out myself before dragging my kids inside. I would do the same for a Hooters Bank, a New Age Bank, a "Not Your Parents Kind of Bank" bank, or any other business that, by the name of the business, had a suggestion of something other than a traditional business structure.
Now if the business was named "Mother Hubbards Latte" and the girlse were topless, I would say she had an argument about deceptive business practices.
Loveland, CO used to have a topless donut shop that was named the Topless Donut Shop or some such. It was very popular as I recall. It wasn't illegal or misleading...but someone probably passed a law against it.

The news broadcast conflated two businesses - one in which the women wear bikinis, the other in which the woman seen was wearing a bikini bottom and only pasties on top. The woman was responding only to the latter in her interview.
I can't find any details on the protest, and the news report doesn't specifically mention what the woman is going to a) protest, or b) make requests for.
Too much supposition, too few known facts.

IDK if my wife would think it's OK for me to get donuts at a popular place like that though.

Do the words "Hot Chick" immediately conjure up a pasty-clad woman in your mind? Easy enough to figure out the "hot chicks" will be attractive - but how does anyone know they won't be in a cute little cheerleading outfit as opposed to merely pasty-clad?
I don't see how informed choice would be a Bad Thing[tm] here - just until "Hot Chick-a-Latte" shops are found on every street corner in America (like Hooters and Starbucks) such as to become a ubiquitous known entity.
