Mr. Obam sees some benefit at sitting across the table from terrorists, to determin "what they want".
Is this another "head-in-the-sand" moment for our esteemed Senator? Don't the terrorist tell us what they want, after EVERY bombing?
let me help.
1. Withdraw ALL interests from the ME. (military, business, visitors)
2. Abandon Israel. (so we can commit genocide, and wipe them from the Earth)
3. Pray to Allah.
I guess if Mr. Obama missed the racism from his pastor week after week for 20 years, he certainly doesn't have the "way-with-all" to know what terrorists want after 80 years.
Maybe he plans to win them over with "hope" or "just words"?

There is some benefit in hearing the terrorists out to address their concerns so they won't blow up buses full of children because they are being ignored.

What doesn't Secretary of Defense Gates get?
Oh you didn't want to touch that thread, eh? Look no matter how many threads you start to support George Bush and John McCain or Obama bashing, it doesn't take away from the fact that members of Bush's own Cabinet, Rice and Gates, advocate exactly what Obama proposes.
How do you explain THAT?

And the next time they want something they'll blow up a school bus full of kids and we'll give it to them and the next time they want something they'll blow up a school bus full of kids and we'll give to them and the next time...well, you get the picture.

Could it be someone has a plank in their eye?

What alternatives to negotiating/talking do you all suggest we take then? Certainly can't just bomb the shit out of every country.

What Obama, and all other bi-partisan mouthpieces don't get.....
People actually listen to them, and expect their words to compare to their actions in office, which they rarely do.....
They are almost ALL hypocrites, and liars, but why should that be a suprise since election after election the only choices you have to pick from are "liar A" and "liar B" from the same old corrupt parties......
No suprises here.

The president has people who do the detail work all the way from killing the bastards to recognizing good behavior and making some kind of agreement before the president puts his prestige on the line. It should be pretty close to a done agreement before he comes into the picture. If the president goes without preconditions, he sets himself up for a fall and would feel pressured to make a deal. We need a very tough man in the white house. Just my two cents.

More totally deranged nonsense from America's most-mindless?
Where are these bombings? Name them! Who are these terrorists? Name them!
The only terrorists I see are sitting in the pentagon and the white house in the
USA. The only bombings I saw were in New York City and in Afghanistan and
Iraq. NYC aside all of the others were carried out by us! ("us" meaning we
Americans) Even most of the "market bombings" and etc. in Iraq are linked
directly back to CIA and U.S. covert ops. So, what bombings? What terrorists?
You mean us ourselves?

I find this discussion fascinating in light of historical events.
In WWII we negotiated with Japan and Hitler right up until Decemeber 1941 after they had killed MILLIONS. After the war while we did decapitate the Nazi hierarchy, we let most of the Nazis live. In Japan we let the Emperor live and be our puppet. In the end we negotiate with two groups of people who had killed TENS OF THOUSANDS of our soldiers. How 'bout when we negotiated with the Italians or Vichy French?
Then let's go to North Korea and we negotiated with them and they to killed TENS OF THOUSANDS of our soldiers. Hell we still negotiate with them and they have actively pursued nukes and have sponsored terrorism.
Vietnam, we negotiated with people who had killed TENS OF THOUSANDS of our soldiers, abandoned allies, then turned around a brokered a deal with the China who was funding and actively helping the Vietnamese, all this done by a REPUBLICAN POTUS!!!!
Reagan negotiated with Saddam. Bush I negotiated with Saddam.
So how is it that we can negotiate with despots, tyrants, mass murders (remember our ally in WWII was Stalin), and evil men - all of whom killed or helped to kill TENS OF THOUSANDS of American soldiers on and off the field of battle, but we can not negotiate with terrorists who, to date, have killed less then 15K Americans in the last 30 years?
It makes no logical sense.
