Vladimir Putin is the most influential world leader. I hope that he will work just as hard for Russian people as new Russia's Prime Minister.

There are now less than two days left before Vladimir Putin steps down after two consecutive terms as Russian President. Monday's meeting with the country's government was supposed to be a routine discussion. However, the outgoing leader decided to make it less official.

At the meeting Vladimir Putin thanked everyone who'd worked with him for the last eight years.

MOSCOW, May 5 (RIA Novosti) - Outgoing Russian President Vladimir Putin held his last Cabinet meeting as head of state on Monday, as his eight-year rule entered its final week.

Putin, who has agreed to take up the premier's post on May 8, pledged closer cooperation between the Kremlin and the Russian government after his 'heir,' 42-year-old Dmitry Medvedev, is inaugurated as president on May 7.

Last hours of Putin’s Russia

Vladimir Putin has less than a day before he officially hands over the presidency to Dmitry Medvedev. The inauguration ceremony will take place at the Kremlin on Wednesday.

On his last working day as president, Putin has presented five Russian cities with honorary awards. Ahead of Victory Day the cities of Polyarny, Luga, Rostov-on-Don, Tuapse and Voronezh were given Military Glory Certificates for their contribution in defeating Nazi Germany in WW2.
A grand strategist or just the man who was in the right place at the right time? Putin has come a long way in his eight years in power.
“As the saying goes, Comrade Wolf knows whom to eat, it eats without listening and it’s clearly not going to listen to anyone,” he said back in 2006.

All I have to say on this is "Go Kasparov"

Putin was a great leader who stood up for his people's future and I hope he's still effective in his new role. It's going to take a strong leader to stave off the efforts of the US attempts to infringe further on former Soviet territories as the US continues on its world rampage to corner the oil markets. Thank dog Russia has the nuclear deterrant.

All I have to say on this is "Go Kasparov"

Kasparov is nothing and nobody in today's Russia.

He has no organization and no support of any kind among people. He just likes to make noise on Moscow streets when there are Western journalists around who then report this noise to CNN and Fox News which do their best to present his speeches to a crowd of 20 - 30 people as a major event in Russia's politics...

Garry Kasparov is more like a stand-up comedian who is trying to tell people that life in Russia is bad. It sure does sound funny, so people are laughing at him.

He was famous only during Soviet years when he won the World Chess Championship beating Anatoly Karpov, and that was in 1984.

Today he is just an agent provocateur and a clown. The only reason some people in the West know about him is because of some reports in Western media which is trying to present him as a great leader which wants to save Russia from all "bad things" that happened during Putin years. :)
Strong Russian economy and just good life is what West hates to see so sure Putin is bad for the West.

Western hypocrisy has no boundaries...

When in 1993 drunk idiot Boris Yeltsin ordered tanks to BOMB a building of the Russian Parliament with members inside, when protests took place all over Russia, and when economy was falling apart, the West have been reporting about the progress of freedom and democracy in Russian society....

Tanks bombard the White House (Russian Parliament) on October 4, 1993 -

Today, however, country is stable and and moving ahead, but the same West is saying that there is a dictorship in Russia.
We went through this already, and know all the tricks of Western propaganda.... ;)

There is also another reason why West is not happy with Russia - Russia does not support war in Iraq and didn't even send her troops to Iraq and Afghanistan to help Bush fight his war on terror...

:)

Hi gov. I've quit the fever because I couldn't put up with Michael any more and have decided to have a run at the righties here. P.m. me when you get a chance and tell me who the good guys are and who the bozos are. Also the mods I should know. I would have p.m.'ed you there but they decided to ban me after I left so I couldn't use the pm thing. I'm sure they were worried about me bringing their people over here which I will certainly try to do if this one turns out to be decent.

Ushaditcoming.

I love the one with the moron fighting with the umbrella and especially for the look on Putin's face. A fun thing to do would be to have a little contest to see who can come up with the best caption for what Putin is saying.

Mine for a start: Now the fool thinks he's Mary Poppins!

or

He's going to get the right side up soon now.

Or from the moron: Please god, not now in front of Vladimir.
