Hi everyone, I think that every person has his right to live in a society no matter even if he was a prisoner in his early life. Most of the prisoners are racial or ethnic minorities and have difficulty in re-entering the society as they are faced with poverty and this leads to crime for which they are re-arrested are convicted and re-incarcerated and this adds a burden on the government in respect of tax-payers. What are your views on this?

You mess up, you pay the price. It's simple as that. If you're having troubles, whose fault is that? Yours. Period. Blame everyone you want, but you have a choice: to break or not break the law. It's your choice. Bad choices = bad outcomes.

There wouldn't be as many of them if we executed all the rapists and murderers. While we're at it, we might as well throw all the gun crime offenders in there, too.

And your solution is what? To fix them up with a car and a house, a monthly income equal the medium income of the area where they choose to live? Will that make them good people? Maybe you want to adopt one yourself for housing and food until they get back on their feet?
The right to live does not imply a negation of responsibility for how one lives.

If we just had them beaten and released after their trials, there would be no break with their former lives.
They could just get down to paying off their victims and living down their crimes...
Except for murderers who should be executed.

This is a very good issue to discuss about as it is concerned with the human race and deals with the real problems faced in the society. The Second Chance Act is taken in this way and hope that it brings a new dawn for the people. I believe you can also express your views on this on savetheleft (www.savetheleft.com) which is good place to know your comments on such issues.

And just what are the main points of the second chance act?
Who does it benefit and how?
What are the numbers of prisoners that would be placed in the program?
Is this for only federal prisoners or is it meant to establish programs all over the country in every community?
How much does it cost?
Who is going to pay the cost?
What new layer of government will it take to administer it and how much will that cost?
Who are the bill's principle sponsers and what is the number of the bill in either the House or the Senate, if it has one yet.
